Tennessee Congresswoman Explains Why She Canceled NFL Season Tickets

Many people around the country canceled their NFL season tickets after the league let players essentially trample the American flag by letting them kneel during the National Anthem. Not only are they losing ticket-holders, they’ve lost nearly half their audience and countless advertisers on local and national levels.

This Tennessee Congresswoman just took a stand against the league and let the world know why she canceled her tickets…

Breitbart reports:

Congresswoman Diane Black, a Republican candidate for governor in Tennessee, recently penned an editorial telling voters why she has canceled her NFL season tickets.

Black published her editorial at Outkick The Coverage on March 29, focusing her decision to dump her season tickets over the disdain that the NFL has shown for the flag and our national anthem over the past two seasons.

Black noted how excited she and her family were when Tennessee got its own NFL franchise and insisted that they were “first in line for season tickets” when the Titans came to town. “Sports have always been an important part of our lives, and having an NFL team in our city was a dream come true,” Black wrote.

But the excitement proved short-lived once the NFL seemed to turn against our country.

“That’s why I was so disappointed to see the NFL and its players disrespect our flag and our anthem during this last season,” Black wrote. “When Dave and I first saw these protests, we made a decision. We decided that our season tickets would remain in a drawer all season and our seats would remain empty. We didn’t attend or watch a single NFL game this season.”

The Congresswoman agreed that the players have a right to protest against the country, but she also pointed out that those who oppose that protest also have a right to act. And in the case of Black and her husband, they decided to stop patronizing the NFL.

Black added that the disrespect that the NFL has shown the military infuriates her:

Every time I stand, put my hand on my heart and join thousands of my fellow citizens in the singing of our national anthem, I get choked up.

I think about my husband Dave, who served in the Marines and fought on the ground in Vietnam. I think about my father, who fought in World War II. I think about my son Steve, who served in the Persian Gulf War.

And I think about the millions of sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers who have fought throughout our history to protect the values espoused in our anthem and represented by our flag.

Black acknowledged that the protesters say that their demonstrations are not attacks on our country, our soldiers, or our national symbols. But she went on to say this claim is hard to believe:

First, if the protests aren’t about the flag, the anthem or the troops, then why are they occurring during the singing of the national anthem, which honors our flag and our troops?

The quarterback who instigated the protests, Colin Kaepernick, was candid in his intent. He said, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” His protest was of the flag itself because he believes that the flag represents oppression.

I reject that. The flag represents the freedom we have in this country – freedom unlike any country in the history of the world. Freedom that was earned in blood and sweat and sacrifice. Freedom that demands respect.

Black also criticized the protests as a negative generalization of police officers:

Second, there have certainly been incidents of improper actions in law enforcement. But these situations do not justify the generic demonization of hard-working, dedicated police officers across the country.

The men and women in law enforcement wake up every morning and risk their lives for our safety. They go to work knowing that there’s a chance they may not make it home that night.

These are people worth honoring, not insulting.

Black added that it is fairly clear that a large number of Americans agree with her since the NFL’s TV ratings have cratered and stadiums have been half empty all across the nation. With the shunning, she noted that she, her family, and millions of Americans have let the NFL hear their voice loud and clear.

“For now, my family has decided that we’ll spend Sunday afternoons fishing instead of attending Titans games,” Black wrote was she warmed to her conclusion. “And that will continue until the NFL and its players show due respect for The star spangled banner that waves for the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

The candidate for governor told voters that she sent the Tennessee Titans a letter explaining why she was not renewing her season tickets and urged Americans to follow her example and tell the NFL why they are no longer interested in professional football.

“If you agree and want to support our troops and police,” Black concluded, “we hope you will find your own way to make your voice heard with us. The people who defend us deserve our thanks.”

NFL Anthem Protester Just Got Brutal News About His Pro Sports Career

You know, the “oppressed” millionaires in the NFL who thought it would be cool to kneel for the National Anthem last season are now starting to realize that might not have been such a great move.

I hope they have good therapists, because showing off for a few seconds seems to be costing them a LOT of money…

Daily Caller reports:

Former San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid is now a free agent and could be looking for a new team.

Reid is known for being the second player to kneel during the National Anthem, right next to former teammate, quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick’s contract expired at the end of the 2016 season, and no team was willing to take a risk on such a polarizing figure. Now it’s time to see if Reid will have better luck in the free-agent market.

In an ESPN report, Reid said, “I wouldn’t use the word ‘concerned.’ I would say I understand that’s a possibility. And I’m completely fine with it. The things that I’ve done, I stand by, and I’ve done that for my own personal beliefs. Like I said, I’m fine with whatever outcome happens because of that.”

Back in 2016, Kaepernick sat during the team’s third preseason game. During the following preseason game, Kaepernick and Reid kneeled together instead of sitting. Jeremy Lane did the same thing on the same night. Lane is no longer on Seattle, either.

The 49ers, Broncos, Seahawks, Patriots, Chiefs and Dolphins all had players who kneeled in protest during the season opener that year.

Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, who also kneeled, was a teammate of Kaepernick’s in college at the University of Nevada.

Patriots tight end Marcellus Bennett, Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters, and Dolphins players Arian Foster, Michael Thomas, and Jelani Jenkins all kneeled during that opening week, and none of them are on the teams they played for back then now.

Stephen Ross, the owner of the Dolphins, explicitly stated that players on his team will stand during the national anthem. The owner of the Houston Texans, Bob McNair, reportedly is not interested in those types of players.

With free agency only beginning, time will tell if owners are willing to accept those who knelt.

NFL Thug Begs For Job… Promises “Never to Kneel” For Anthem Ever Again

The long list of NFL players who thought it would be a good idea to entangle liberal politics with their sport are now learning that most teams are not interested in giving them jobs — no matter how good they are at throwing a sports ball around a field for millions.

Some of them aren’t up for free agency yet, but the ones who are stand little chance of being picked up, as team owners know the fans won’t stand for it. Eric Reid, one of the original flag kneeling anti-American NFL players, is one of them. Now he’s resorted to essentially begging…

Hannity reports:

An NFL star who pioneered “taking a knee” during the performance of the US national anthem at professional football games announced he plans to pursue a “different approach” heading into the 2018 season.

According to ESPN, Eric Reid -who spearheaded the protest alongside teammate Colin Kaepernick in 2016- said during a recent interview that he no longer intends to kneel during the performance of the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’

“I’m not saying I’m going to stop being active because I won’t. I’m just going to consider different ways to be active, different ways to bring awareness to the issues of this country and improve on the issues happening in this country,” said Reid.

“I don’t think it will be in the form of protesting during the anthem. I say ‘during’ because it’s crazy that the narrative changed to we were ‘protesting the anthem,’ and that wasn’t the case. I think we’re going to take a different approach to how we’re going to be active,” he added.

Reid’s comments come more than a week into his search for a contract, with many team owners and officials opting to stay away from “controversial” players after a disastrous 2017 season.

BREAKING: NFL Owner Just Got MAJOR REVENGE On Kaepernick Supporting Players! THEY ARE PISSED!

Miami Dolphins owner and real estate titan Stephen Ross has finally taken the correct stance when it comes to NFL players taking a knee during the playing of our national anthem.

At an event in New York where Ross was being honored with a lifetime achievement award he decided to whack the hornet’s nest and send a clear message to his ball tossing employees. “If you plan on kneeling for the national anthem this coming season, you better not.” This is a clear break from what he was doing last year when he was a heavy supporter of the disrespect shown by his players towards our great nation.

Of course, the whining players and their supporters will be upset about Ross’ statements, What do they care? It’s not like the player’s multi-million dollar salaries will suffer because they decide to disrespect our great nation. The very nation who has made them rich for doing what in most other nations is considered a hobby.

The fact is NFL ratings have sunk like a rock once the mediocre player Kaepernick started this so-called movement because he needed a quick way to deflect from the fact that his playing was so poor that the Forty Niners had to bench him. One thing you do have to give Kaepernick credit for is the fact that he was the one man who was able to take down the NFL. After Liberals have been trying for at least a decade, this never was player was able to do it. He made millions of us die-hard fans stop watching the sport we so love like it has leprosy.

Via Sports Home:

“Michael Vick, who became a Philadelphia Eagles teammate of McCoy in 2009 after spending time in prison on federal dogfighting charges.

“He’s 10 times better than Kaepernick,” McCoy said of Vick. “You’ll deal with that situation, that attention, that media aspect of it. The good, the bad attention you’ll get. Compared to Kaepernick, it’s like, he’s not really that good [enough] of a player to deal with.

“So people outside of sports don’t really know that. They see only one side of black guy standing up for a good reason [and] the NFL is against him, but I think it’s more than that. I think it has to do with some of that. But also, dealing with him with him on the team you’re trying to build together. There’s so many outsiders [that] can mess up a team. I can see both sides, I really can.”

McCoy opined Thursday that Kaepernick, who remains unsigned as the start of the regular season approaches Sept. 7, would not make the roster of “certain teams” in the NFL.

“You just got to look at all sides,” McCoy said. “Like, if I’m an owner or the GM of a team, do I want to put him on my team? Is he good enough to be on the squad, to even deal with everything that’s going on? That’s something that I don’t really partake in.””

If only Kaepernick would have used his influence for good who knows how far he could have gone.

Via FiveThirtyEight:

“As Colin Kaepernick’s job hunt has crept into training camp, the parameters of debate have shifted. Just a few months ago, the contention was over whether or not Kaepernick was good enough to play in the league. That no longer seems to be the case. Last week, reports circulated that Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome were both interested in signing Kaepernick, but were met with resistance by owner Steve Bisciotti, who framed hesitance over signing Kaepernick as a PR concern.

“Your opinions matter to us,” Bisciotti said at a fan event, referring to fan opinion over Kaepernick. “We’re very sensitive to it, and we’re monitoring it, and we’re still, as Ozzie says, scrimmaging it, and we’re trying to figure out what’s the right tact. So pray for us.”

Kaepernick’s ability to play the position no longer seems to be in doubt. Players have spoken in support of Kaepernick, and most serious analysis reliant on game study arrives at the conclusion that Kaepernick is not just a competent quarterback, but is also better than he was when he led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2013. Cian Fahey, who catalogues quarterback performance at Pre-Snap Reads, found Kaepernick to have outplayed Ravens starter Joe Flacco.

And yet Kaepernick doesn’t have a team. It’s obvious Kaepernick is being frozen out for his political opinions, but it’s less apparent how extraordinary it is that a player like him can’t find a team. Back in March, Neil Paine and I wrote about Kaepernick’s situation and noted that it was strange for even a halfway decent quarterback to remain unsigned so deep into free agency. Four months later, it’s no longer merely unusual — it’s practically unheard of.

Here are the free agent quarterbacks from the past five offseasons, charted by their Total Quarterback Rating in the previous season and how many days they remained in free agency before being signed by a team. (The size of the dots represent the number of pass attempts.)

No above-average quarterback has been unemployed nearly as long as Kaepernick this offseason. The most comparable scenario — Ryan Fitzpatrick’s contract showdown with the New York Jets last offseason — isn’t really comparable at all, since Fitzpatrick was the one exerting leverage over the team, not the other way around.

It’s easy to lose sight of the reality that good quarterbacks often never even reach free agency, let alone remain unsigned for so long. That’s especially the case for our discussion of Kaepernick, which has shifted from his merit as a player to concern-trolling and a consideration of business practicalities. So while Kaepernick is clearly an outlier on the chart above, the fact that he’s on it at all should be just as surprising.”

HAHA! Trump Just Got The LAST Laugh on EVERY NFL Anthem Protester! KARMA SUCKS!

Over the last year, disrespectful NFL players knelt during the national anthem creating a firestorm of criticism from the fans to President Trump. These anti-American players claimed that they were kneeling to protest racial inequality in America all while they cashed million dollars checks and drove expensive cars back to their mansions in gated communities. As the national anthem protests by these nasty NFL players grew, so did the number of fans boycotting the games and as a result, the ratings took a nose dive. However, despite the poor ratings and NFL stadiums emptying out across the country, these race-baiting players still did not get the message to no one cared about their protest.

Well, now that is about to change as players in the NFL just received a hefty dose of karma for their disgusting antics giving Trump and every red-blooded American the last laugh.

If there is one thing that we learned from these protests over the last year, is that these ungrateful players have no concept what it means to be an American in our country. Otherwise, if they did, they would hardly be kneeling during the national anthem essentially spitting in the face of every veteran who has sacrificed their lives to protect their right to protest. Oh, the irony, right?

Sadly, that concept has eluded these selfish players for a while, but now they are about to understand that there is always a consequence to their actions. Just recently, two NFL Houston Texans agents revealed that the team would pass over free agent players that participated in the controversial protests, and hopefully, they stick with it.

Here is more from Fox News:

“The widespread national anthem protests that took the NFL by storm last season will reportedly have an impact on how the Houston Texans pursue free agents.

Two NFL agents told the Houston Chronicle on Saturday that the team is not interested in players who participated in protests during the national anthem.

There is no official directive in the organization, but it is understood that the team isn’t going to pursue anyone who participated in the protests, the paper reported.

However, the Houston Texans slammed the report Monday calling it “categorically false and without merit.”

“A recent report that suggests the Houston Texans would not sign a player who has protested in support of social justice issues is categorically false and without merit. The Texans ownership, coaching, personnel and executive staff sign and hire employees based on talent, character and fit within our organization,” the Texans wrote in a statement.

The Texans had their own controversy during the season after team owner Bob McNair said that “we can’t have the inmates running the prison” during a meeting of NFL owners about players who protest by kneeling during the national anthem.

He said that if he had a chance to do it over, he would not have used the expression.

McNair insisted he wasn’t referring to the players with his comments. He said he was “referring to the relationship between the league office and team owners and how they have been making significant strategic decisions affecting our league without adequate input from ownership over the past few years.”

A majority of the Texans responded to McNair’s comments by kneeling during the national anthem before the following game.”

Of course, they are going to deny that they said this, considering the amount of pushback they would receive from thousands of social justice warriors screaming discrimination, but it isn’t.

The only thing that will get these nasty NFL players attention is to hit them where it hurts, and that is in the pocketbook. If the NFL wants to continue making money, they are going to have to take a harsher stance against these players and their ridiculous protest.

A team or any employer has the right to decide who they want representing them, and they can choose to pass over potential players who may cause issues within in the team. NFL owners need to face the music that these ungrateful players who have been kneeling during the national anthem are bad news for their franchise, and it would be in their best interest not to sign them.

CPAC Crowd Erupts After Pence Issues Warning To The NFL

Vice President Mike Pence is one incredible man. He loves this country, our flag and our troops and isn’t afraid to tell the world. What he just said at this year’s CPAC conference will definitely make you even more proud that we have Trump/Pence in office.

The NFL really dropped the ball in the 2017-18 season — so much so that seasoned NFL fans (such as myself) who never thought they could go even one Sunday without watching several games, have tuned out altogether.  Losing their core demographic has already cost the league millions and will continue to do so next season unless radical changes to the players’ behavior is made.

Daily Caller reports:

Vice President Mike Pence took a direct shot at NFL protesters by reminding the crowd present at his 2018 CPAC speech that “we always stand for our flag and our national anthem.”

And the crowd ate it up.

“It is great to be back at CPAC,” Pence opened. “And I stand here today with profound gratitude.”

After rattling off the adminsitration’s victories over the past year, VPOTUS said he “[stands] with President Trump.”

“We stand with the conservative movement,” he continued. “And come to think of it, we always stand for our flag and our national anthem as well.”

The crowd immediately broke out into cheers of “U-S-A! U-S-A!” while Pence smiled from the podium.

BREAKING: Super Bowl Ratings Devastate League

The NFL was beaten down all year by angry, blue-collar patriots who grew sick and tired of the league allowing so-called “oppressed” millionaire players take a knee during the Star-Spangled Banner. America responded by boycotting the games en masse, dropping ratings to new lows.

But the NFL didn’t think there was a chance in the world that America would turn away from the league’s biggest day — Super Bowl Sunday. But guess what? They did.

The numbers don’t lie — the NFL is absolutely devastated this Monday morning…

Breitbart reports:

Super Bowl LII will go down as one of the most entertaining championship games in recent memory. However, for the NFL, it will go down as the lowest-rated Super Bowl game in recent memory.

The Eagles 41-33 victory over the Patriots drew a 47.4/70 in metered markets. That’s down nearly three percent from last year’s thriller between the Patriots and the Falcons. It’s a 5 percent drop from the last time NBC had the big game in 2014, when the Patriots beat the Seahawks.

Looked at broadly, Super Bowl LII is the lowest-rated Super Bowl game since 2010, when the Colts and Saints, two smallish market teams, faced-off against each other:

The 2015 Super Bowl clash between New England and Seattle holds the title for most watched Super Bowl game ever, with over 114 million viewers. However, since then, the numbers have steadily decreased. Last year’s game for example, drew 111.3 million watchers. The Saints-Colts Super Bowl, which this year’s contest beat by one point, drew just over 110 million viewers. Which projects final total viewing numbers to fall into the 110-112 million viewer range.

The NFL took a ratings hit of ten percent during the regular season in 2017. While the numbers from Sunday’s game do not reflect a 10 percent drop from last year, one wouldn’t necessarily expect them too, since the Super Bowl is more of a cultural event which draws a larger audience.

However, to have Tom Brady and two large market teams play one of the most thrilling championship games ever only to have it rate as the lowest Super Bowl contest in eight years, has to be hugely disappointing to the NFL.

BREAKING: Man Who Killed NFL Player Is Illegal Immigrant!

The man who killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson in a DUI accident is allegedly an illegal immigrant that ICE is trying to deport.

From The Washington Times:

The man accused of killing an NFL player and another man in a DUI-related crash Sunday morning is a Mexican immigrant whom authorities are trying to deport, according to charging documents.

Police say 37-year-old Alex Cabrera Gonsales drove a black Ford F-150 pickup truck onto the emergency shoulder along Interstate 70 around 4 a.m. Sunday, plowed into a ride-share vehicle, and killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe of Avon.

Booking documents from the Marion County Jail, which can be searched for at (Link: inmateinfo.indy.gov) and found at case number 1804804, show that Mr. Cabrera Gonsales is an immigrant from Mexico who is subject to deportation.

Mr. Cabrera Gonsales didn’t have a driver’s license, tried to flee the scene of the accident and had a blood-alcohol level of at least .15 (nearly twice the legal limit), authorities said.

The booking document, which specifies that Mr. Cabrera Gonsales has a detainer request on him, does not say whether was in the U.S. illegally or as a legal permanent resident who can still be deported for a serious crime.
