Steve Bannon Slams McConnell’s ‘Outrageous’ Lack of Support for Trump Agenda

Mitch McConnell

Breitbart News Executive Chairman and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon told the New York Times that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his allies have been “the most outrageous” in their failure to support President Trump — adding that McConnell “has to go.”

Bannon was reacting to Republican Ed Gillespie’s defeat in the Virginia gubernatorial race. Gillespie, a former Bush aide and RNC chairman, had embraced Trump’s populist agenda late, and it had not been enough to salvage a victory.

Bannon noted that “You’re going to win some and you’re going to lose some,” but that pushing Trump’s agenda is a process, and that leads to McConnell.

“So the process now goes: why is Mitch McConnell? Because the Senate and Mitch McConnell have been the most outrageous in their lack of support of President Trump’s agenda,” Bannon told the Times’ Jeremy Peters.

Bannon has eyed running challengers to a number of sitting Republican senators, calling for them to be replaced by authentic candidates who support Trump’s “America First” agenda.

“The greatest offense is not supporting the president enough as of now,” Bannon said. “I think [McConnell] showed his contempt for the grassroots movement, I think he showed his contempt for the Trump movement in those actions, so yes, Mitch McConnell has to go.”

Asked about McConnell’s future, Bannon said: “I absolutely do not think he will be majority leader” this time next year.

Later, when asked about whether it was his personal mission to run McConnell out of the Senate leadership, Bannon confirmed that it was indeed one of his objectives for 2018.

“It’s not my personal mission but I have an objective that Mitch McConnell will not be majority leader and I believe it will be done before this time next year,” he said.

FINAL STRAW: Trump Just Gave McConnell An Ultimatum That Will Mortify Him

There’s a rule in the Senate that requires 60 votes for cloture, or ending debate so that a vote can happen.  You see, Senators are supposed to be allowed to talk, or debate, about an issue as long as “necessary.”

60 votes are required to stop the discussion, or debate.  Sometimes there’s a filibuster, or someone who talks and debates, and talks some more, just to stall or stop legislation from proceeding.

Ok, end of government lesson for today.  On to the point:  President Trump wants Mitch McConnell to get rid of the 60 vote requirement, so that the Senate can pass some laws.  Otherwise, says Trump, they won’t be able to do anything.

Watch this, where McConnell actually filibustered HIS OWN BILL:

That’s right, you just witnessed the cluster for yourself. Unbelievable!

Trump can’t tolerate McConnell’s attitude that it’s okay for them to do nothing, pass nothing.  McConnell, for his part, is resolute that he will NOT do what the President is urging.  According to him, there’s not a single Senator in the majority that wants to change the 60 vote rule.

What does that tell you?  It tells me that they are fine with the status quo.  Of not getting anything done.  That’s just so disappointing and reaffirms that we have got to DRAIN THE SWAMP.

After Trump Aimed His Best Weapon At Them, Ryan And McConnell Knew They Are DOOMED

Once again, Trump is winning!

We recently reported about how Trump had led the RNC to raise $75 million in the first 6 months of 2017.  But it’s getting even better.

The RNC just set another fundraising record:  it just raised the most money EVER in a non-presidential election year!  That’s pretty darn impressive.  That amount is $13.4 million just in the month of June.

Watch this, you’re gonna LOVE it:

RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel gives the credit to the American people, for their generous support.  Its fundraising success is due to smaller contributions of $200 or less.  What does that tell you?  That the Patriots that elected Trump are still excited about him.  They are so excited, they want to support him with their hard earned money.

The GOP now controls all three main branches of government, and with the amount of money the RNC has managed to raise, that could continue for a very long time.

Of course, we want Republicans in Washington who can and will get things done.  We are tired of people like Mitch McConnell, who whined that Trump’s expectations for Congress were excessive.  We are tired of people like Paul Ryan, who is a traitor to Trump.

We want the swamp drained!
