It seems that California Congresswoman Maxine Waters has made herself look like a total fool… once again. You may be wondering what she could have said this time that tops her having called for Trump’s impeachment. Well, wonder no more. This time, Waters had something to say about disgraced former FBI Director James Comey.
The former FBI Director’s anti-Trump rhetoric lately has been taking over mainstream media headlines, but what Waters just said has taken it a step too far for even the most liberal news networks.
During an interview on Monday evening on MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes,” the California Congresswoman was shown a clip of her during the presidential transition period, in which she claimed that Comey was unreliable.
She can be heard saying in the clip, “All I can tell you is the FBI director has no credibility.”
Hayes stated on the air during Monday’s interview, “You and Donald Trump do agree on that. That sentence you said that, ‘the FBI director has no credibility.’ You and Donald Trump are in agreement on that.”
Waters was clearly confused, as she isn’t used to being questioned by a fellow liberal. She seemed to stutter a bit before going into one of her normal babbling responses.
“I’ve tried to clarify that and to say, yes, coming out of that classified briefing, I said that, and I certainly meant it. However, I think it is quite different when you take a look at Comey and his relationship to the president, what he said, what he’s done. I believe him,”Waters stated.
“Then is then, and now is now.”
Conservative Tribune reports:
At The Washington Post, “The Fix” writer Aaron Blake practically spluttered on his keyboard. (His piece is headlined “Maxine Waters’s cringe-worthy explanation for her 180 on James Comey.”)
“Part of being a politician is showing that you have some consistent moral compass — that you don’t just promote things and people because they say things you like and denounce them when it’s inconvenient. Saying Comey has ‘no credibility’ means he lacks character and can’t be trusted to tell the truth. That doesn’t really change with circumstances and with the passage of 15 months,” he wrote.
“Politicians aren’t viewed as the most consistent and trustworthy people; in fact, Gallup polling shows that members of Congress are basically tied with lobbyists as the least-trusted of 21 professions tested. And sometimes they show us why.”
Twitter users really let Waters have it for her comments:
Oh please. She knew Comey was corrupt. During transition she thought Comey's self serving interests would drive him switch teams. Her self serving interests drove her to be 1st to denounce him.
He didn't switch teams.
Would be great if she got caught in the drag net

The Washington Post tore Waters apart for her comments.

The Post reports, “Part of being a politician is showing that you have some consistent moral compass — that you don’t just promote things and people because they say things you like and denounce them when it’s inconvenient. Saying Comey has “no credibility” means he lacks character and can’t be trusted to tell the truth. That doesn’t really change with circumstances and with the passage of 15 months.”
The Post also claimed that Waters either acknowledged that she is a bad judge of credibility or she basically admitted that her political opinions have changed rather conveniently.
Maxine Waters’ comment proved that the Democrats are so ready and willing to bend the truth in order to push their agenda that even their own beliefs are subject to change by the day. Waters flip-flopping on what she said isn’t much of a surprise, but it isn’t every day that an MSNBC host calls out a fellow liberal on the air and the Washington Post throws a Democrat under the bus.
I guess Waters has become even too much of a looney toon for the left to deal with at this point.
