After Jerry Brown Disobeys Trump’s Direct Border Order, Donald Announces Swift Consequences

Know what happens when you disobey a direct order from the President of the United States?

Well, it sort of depends on the President. But in the case of Donald Trump, he’s going to tell you exactly what sort of punishment to expect.

And he’s going to be very bold, and very public about announcing that punishment, too.

So, when California Governor Jerry Brown made it clear that National Guard troops in the state essentially have no power to protect our southern border, Trump fired back fast.

After Trump ordered states to send Guard troops to bolster our porous border, Brown issued the following order:

California National Guard will not enforce immigration laws or participate in the construction of any new border barrier.

He added that the federal government is paying for this deployment. Wait…so we pay for the action, and youhave the gall to tell them what to do?

Unsurprisingly, Trump wasn’t too pleased with this limitation of authority. He knows we need those troops to do their jobs if Americans are to remain safe in their beds at night.

As such, the President took to Twitter and ripped into Brown, saying the federal government won’t pay for troops to go to the border and “do nothing.”

He’s certainly right about needing action because illegal immigration continues to be one of this country’s biggest problems.

He then added another Tweet on Wednesday, mentioning the dire situation in California, and praising the efforts of various local officials in the state who have opposed its sanctuary state status.

The National Guard troops are there to protect us from dangerous illegal activity, such as drug smuggling and other cartel-related antics.

California has been turned into a war zone in certain spots, and it continues to be a safe haven for terrifying illegal criminals. All this has to stop.

And if it’s going to stop, we have to let border officials and our military do their jobs.

We almost hope California doesn’t obey Trump’s order, though, because it’d be great to see Trump take away more federal money!

Trump’s ICE Storms Nation’s Largest Sanctuary City, Arresting Hundreds

Image result for Trump’s ICE Storms Nation’s Largest Sanctuary City, Arresting Hundreds

Cities across America are breaking federal law, challenging immigration agents by protecting illegal immigrants.

Under President Trump, ICE is no longer putting up with that.

It doesn’t matter how big the city is, or how many illegals they’re trying to shelter.

Bleeding heart liberal governors and mayors have been welcoming illegals with open arms at the expense of American citizens. They were under the illusion they could hide behind their big city budgets and their establishment power.

Well, Donald just sent a signal that law-abiding American citizens are far more important to their government than foreign lawbreakers.

If only we could deport liberals for their illegal actions. For now, we’ll have to settle for deporting criminal illegals.

And ICE just found a whole bunch in America’s largest sanctuary city.

From Breitbart:

Immigration enforcement agents tracked and arrested 225 illegal migrants in New York’s “sanctuary city” where Democratic politicians are protecting illegals in the huge cheap-labor workforce which supports the city’s elite finance sector.

A statement from U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement stated the six-day operation picked up 60 migrants who had been arrested and then released by the city’s police forces, despite federal requests to detain them for repatriation:

“More than 60 individuals arrested during this operation were previously released from local law enforcement on an active detainer. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) places detainers on individuals who have been arrested on local criminal charges and who are suspected of being deportable.”

The fact that liberals are trying to shield these people from being deported, when over 180 of those rounded up were convicted criminals, should tell you everything you need to know about the Democratic Party. And it’s not as if these raids are a total surprise.

Over 80 of the people detained had been issued final warnings to leave the US in recent weeks, or had already been removed and had snuck back in, counting on the city’s weak stance on immigration to protect them.

NYC’s constant pandering to these people have emboldened them to think they can get away with anything they want, and many of them try.

The DHS statement said the arrestees included criminals convicted of manslaughter, DUIs, registered sex offenders, rapists, murder, burglary, forgery and fraud.

ICE is definitely doing its job well by keeping these monsters off our streets, but calling ICE on illegal immigrants is merely reactive.

Building the wall will be proactive, and the sooner it goes up, the safer America will be.

EXCLUSIVE–California Sanctuary City Laws Likely Responsible for 5K Crimes by Released Criminal Illegal Aliens

Illegal Crime

The state of California and the sanctuary city laws that make it a safe-haven for criminal illegal aliens is likely responsible for at least 5,000 crimes that were committed by criminal illegal aliens released by local authorities rather than being handed over to federal immigration officials.

According to data conducted for Breitbart News by the Center for Immigration Studies’ Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan, the state of California — which refuses to hand over criminal illegal aliens to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency — makes up about half of all non-cooperation with federal immigration officials in the U.S.

For example, roughly 50 percent of the ICE detainers — the hold that federal immigration officials place on a criminal illegal alien — ignored by local sanctuary city authorities across the U.S. occurred in California.

In mid-2017, ICE Director Thomas Homan revealed that about 10,000 criminal illegal aliens had been released by sanctuary cities across the U.S. and went on to commit more crimes. This figure, though, could be even higher for the year of 2017.

Based on this data, Vaughan told Breitbart News that it is “reasonable to assume” that about half of those crimes committed by released criminal illegal aliens occurred in the state of California.

“That is 5,000 crimes that occurred that could have been prevented if they had cooperated with ICE as federal law provides,” Vaughan told Breitbart News. “What is the cost to Californians for that crime spree?”

“Surely it is a lot more than the cost of the few minutes of a California jail officer’s time to notify ICE, or to keep the offenders in custody for ICE for a few hours,” Vaughan said. “But California politicians like Gov. Brown, Xavier Becerra, and Libby Schaaf would rather have the crime, apparently.”

This estimate was gathered by provided ICE data, as the agency says it has no way of tracking the figure of how many exact criminal illegal aliens have been released into the public by California’s sanctuary laws.

“Lack of cooperation from sanctuary jurisdictions means that they do not notify ICE when they release an individual on whom we have filed a detainer, so we have no way of knowing exactly how many such individuals they have released,” an ICE official told Breitbart News. “We often become aware of an alien’s release from a jurisdiction when we re-encounter the alien later during targeted enforcement.”

As Breitbart News reported, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf recently warned criminal illegal aliens ahead of a regional raid by ICE, helping convicted illegal alien sex offenders, armed robbers, and drunk drivers escape deportation.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ Department of Justice is now investigating Schaaf for obstruction of justice. About 47 percent of likely voters say the DOJ should prosecute Schaaf for obstruction of justice, while only 36 percent of likely voters say the DOJ should not prosecute the mayor.

Sessions announced a DOJ lawsuit against the state of California, challenging three of its sanctuary state laws that protect criminal illegal aliens from deportation by ICE.

Poll: Majority Believe Illegal Immigration Serious Problem

AP Photo

A majority of Americans believe that illegal immigration is a serious problem, according to the most recent YouGov poll.

The poll, conducted Feb. 18-20, asked respondents, “How serious a problem is illegal immigration in the U.S. as a whole?”

A majority (32% “serious,” 21% “somewhat serious”) considered illegal immigration to be a serious problem while 28% said it is a “minor problem.” Another nine percent said it is “not a problem” while 10% were not sure.

Furthermore, just 19% of those surveyed wanted an increase in legal immigration while 27% called for a decrease. Thirty-seven percent of respondents did not want a change in immigration levels.

YouGov conducted its survey as Congress tries to find a solution for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive amnesty program. President Donald Trump has indicated he would be willing to give nearly two million so-called Dreamers a path to citizenship in exchange for limits to chain migration and funding for the border wall. But Democrats have been vehement in their opposition to any cuts in legal immigration, claiming in sensational ways that it is just Trump’s attempt, in the words of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), to “make America white again.”

YouGov surveyed 1,500 people, and the poll’s margin of error is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Report: Arrests of Illegal Aliens in Boston Increase by More than 50 Percent in 2017

Deported Illegal Aliens

Arrests of illegal aliens living in the Boston, Massachusetts area have increased by more than 50 percent, a new report reveals.

According to federal data analyzed by the Boston Globe, arrests of illegal aliens in the Boston area hiked up beyond 50 percent in Fiscal Year 2017, marking a new era of strict immigration enforcement under President Trump’s agenda of economic nationalism.

Agents with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency arrested nearly 3,000 illegal aliens in the Boston region in Fiscal Year 2017. Compare that to the 1,858 illegal aliens who were arrested the year before when former President Obama’s immigration enforcement was far more lax.

The bulk of the illegal alien arrests came from ICE’s increased enforcement that no longer only strives to deport illegal aliens who have committed crimes against American citizens.

For example, more than 1,100 of the illegal alien arrests were for foreign nationals who did not have a criminal history. The year before, only 343 illegal aliens without criminal backgrounds were arrested by ICE in the Boston area.

The ramped-up interior enforcement of immigration — wherein the Trump administration increased deportations of illegal aliens living across the U.S. by nearly 40 percent — has helped secure higher wages for America’s working and middle class.

For example, the strict immigration enforcement thus far has led to historic wage increases for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businesses, and black Americans.

A reduction in overall illegal and legal immigration would potentially mean even higher wages for American workers who would see less competition with cheaper, foreign workers and a less saturated labor market where there are more workers than there are U.S. jobs.

Overall, Trump’s ICE agency in the full Fiscal Year of 2017 deported 226,119 illegal aliens, including those caught at the southern border and those arrested and deported from the interior of the U.S. This is a slight decrease from the Fiscal Year 2016 deportations, when more than 240,000 illegal aliens were deported, but ICE officials say this is entirely because of the record decline in border-crossings under Trump.

Trump’s Immigration Policy Gets Jobs, Higher Wages for 600 African-Americans

immigration

President Donald Trump’s enforcement of immigration laws has delivered hundreds of jobs at higher wages to sidelined African-Americans in Chicago after a Swiss-owned bakery was penalized for employing roughly 800 illegals.

The good news was admitted in a Chicago Sun-Times article:

Ed French, owner of Elgin-based Metro Staff Inc., says his company became the main provider of [replacement] workers for the bakery and that about 80 percent of them are black. According to French … wages [are] up by about 25 cents an hour, to just above minimum wage.

He says everyone hired through his company is permitted to work in the country and has passed a background check and drug test.

According to a former consultant to the bakery, MSI paid the black workers $14 an hour, versus the $10 an hour the Mexican workers were making through Labor Network.

Newly hired Latino-Americans are also getting the higher wage.

The wage-cutting illegals — mostly Mexicans — were employed at the Cloverhill bakery in Northwest Chicago and the company’s other bakeries in Cicero and Romeoville. When the illegals were fired, the company’s output fell and it lost customers. The Swiss owner, Aryzta, has since sold the Cloverhill bakery to Hostess Brands.

Nationwide, many companies and their allied politicians are complaining that Trump’s pro-American policy is leaving them with few imported workers and is forcing up wages. However, CEOs have kept wage increases to just a 1 percent increase from January 2017 to January 2018, after considering inflation.

Trump’s win for Chicagoans comes as local Democratic politicians try to help illegal immigrants instead of Americans. For example, Democratic Senator Dick Durbin spend much of December, January and February trying to win an amnesty for at least 3 million illegal immigrants, which would have ensured a flood of new legal workers for jobs in Chicago and other cities. On January 15, for example, Durbin told reporters:

I’m focused on one thing — not that meeting [with Presidenet Donald Trump] — but on making sure that those who are being protected by DACA and eligible for the DREAM Act have a future in America. I am focused on that full time.

Durbin’s amnesty would also have denied the jobs and wage-raises to the roughly 600 African-Americans now working at Cloverhill.

Trump’s pro-American policy has won him significant support among working-class blacks as black unemployment has fallen to historic lows.

The good economic news from Chicago is offset by the increased diversity and conflict imposed by the pro-immigration Democratic and business groups. OakPark.com reported comments from Dan Giloth, a project director with the Chicago-based Coalition Against Segregation of Employees group:

“Although they lost lots of [illegal] workers through the ICE audit, their response has been hiring lots of workers, mainly blacks, giving them little training, working them excessive hours and giving them mandatory 12- to 16-hour shifts,” he said. “When workers get hurt, they’re essentially thrown away” …

OakPark.com also reported:

Lisa Pintado-Vertner, a member of Oak Park Call to Action, said that employees have told her that Aryzta tries to “pit groups against each other, because if you divide you can conquer,” she said.

“We hear stories from African Americans who say Latinos won’t speak English to me and Latinos who say blacks are lazy … “

The Sun-Times reported that African-American employees at Cloverhill summoned Trump’s ICE agents amid blue-collar conflicts over language, hours, shifts, favoritism and pay.

Lynne Lane, a union steward at Cloverhill, says there are tensions as the two groups work side by side. Lane, who is black, says it was black workers at the bakery who called a government hotline to report the Mexican workers to immigration authorities.

“It was [African American] workers in the plant that saw, you know, like I said, that had been treated unfairly and treated like secondary-class citizens” by Hispanic workers, Lane says. “So it was a whole lot of employees in the company. Well, they was given a number, as far as I know. They was given a number to call … to call Immigration.”

Four million Americans turn 18 each year and begin looking for good jobs in the free market.

But the federal government inflates the supply of new labor by annually accepting roughly 1.1 million new legal immigrants, by providing work-permits to roughly 3 million resident foreigners, and by doing little to block the employment of roughly 8 million illegal immigrants.

The Washington-imposed economic policy of economic growth via mass-immigration floods the market with foreign laborspikes profits and Wall Street values by cutting salaries for manual and skilled labor offered by blue-collar and white-collar employees. It also drives up real estate priceswidens wealth-gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, hurts kids’ schools and college education, pushes Americans away from high-tech careers, and sidelines at least 5 million marginalized Americans and their families, including many who are now struggling with opioid addictions.

After Trump’s Speech, Border Wall Poll Takes A Tremendous Swing

It’s amazing how fake news can split this country. For over a year, we’ve been told President Trump is the one dividing us. But when the people are allowed to see the facts, we discover the opposite is true.

The only people dividing us are the liberals. They lie in media. They lie in Washington. They push false narratives in order to keep many Americans in the dark.

But when they were allowed to hear from Trump himself, it makes all the difference. Since Trump’s State of the Union address, many people are singing a new tune. Turns out, most of us support Trump’s plan for America.

From Breitbart:

The majority of Americans want a wall along the southern border to protect the United States and American workers from illegal aliens pouring into the country.

Following President Trump’s “State of the Union” (SOTU) address wherein he demanded at least $25 billion from the Republican-controlled Congress to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, nearly 60 percent of Americans said they supported the plan.

The post-SOTU CBS News poll revealed that 59 percent of Americans said they supported “building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.”

Only 41 percent of Americans said they opposed the border wall, but were not given other options in the poll for what they would like to see done about securing the country’s southern border.

The support for Trump’s border wall is just the latest development in Americans’ vast support for the president’s plan to transform the current legal immigration — whereby more than 70 percent of legal immigrants arrive in the U.S. for no other reason than to reunify with foreign relatives — into one based on merit, skills, and English proficiency.

It seems like the only people who want to protect illegal immigration are radical leftists. And, of course, the brain-dead celebrities who endorse them. Neither group has to deal with the fallout of increased illegal immigration. The rest of us do.

Most Americans are against illegal immigration. They don’t want millions of undocumented strangers flooding the country. We understand the danger that poses.

Most Americans also want improvements to the immigration system. And now we know, most want a border wall.

So, who’s standing in the way? Radical liberals who need illegals for their support. They aren’t interested in protecting the economy or national security. Democrats only want to exploit illegals for political power. Pathetic.

But more and more Americans are getting behind the President. Democrats will be forced to either support his vision or get voted out of office. Let’s see which happens first!

Trump to Democrats: Compromise on Immigration Now or Get Nothing After Election

amnesty

President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that the GOP could postpone his immigration-and-amnesty push, and instead pass a no-compromise immigration rewrite in 2019.

“We have to get help from either side [to pass a bill in 2018] — or we have to elect many more Republicans,” Trump told GOP legislators gathered at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia.

Electing more Republicans “is another way of doing it,” he said, prompting cheers. He continued:

Really, that is another way of doing it. And based on the [election related] numbers we just saw, we have a real chance of doing that …  [Immigration] is now an election issue that will go to our benefit, not their benefit.

Trump said his four-part immigration and amnesty plan “includes reforms that are overwhelmingly popular with the voters, including Democrats … Americans want an immigration system that works for everybody.”

Trump’s suggestion is a 2018 threat to Democrats largely because Trump’s immigration priorities are far more popular than the Democrats’ pro-migrant, cheap-labor policies. By focussing the 2018 race on the nation’s current cheap-labor economic strategy, Trump could reanimate the blue-collar base that carried him to victory in 2016 and also trump the Democrats’ base of revenge-seeking liberals.

Trump’s suggestion of a delay also offers GOP legislators an escape from the amnesty debate, in which they are being pushed to vote for a very unpopular amnesty of at least 1.8 million Democratic-leaning ‘dreamer’ migrants. Unless Democrats suddenly relax their hardline opposition to reforms, the GOP legislators may quietly embrace Trump’s alternative strategy, and then stall and delay debate on the amnesty while pushing the issue into the November election.

A decision to punt the issue into November would also deny employers a flood of new immigrant workers. Without those imported workers, GOP legislators would benefit when employers raise wages for many American voters in the run-up to the November election.

But Trump’s threat of an immigration-election also shows that he wants to make a quick deal with the Democrats — if the Democrats can overcome their visceral opposition to Trump’s legal reforms and his border wall.

Also, Trump did not explicitly say he would take the immigration-and-amnesty issue to the voters in 2018 — even though the issue would likely be front-and-center in the election campaign.

In his speech to the GOP leaders, Trump complained that the Democrats are ignoring his four-part reform-and-amnesty plan.“We’re getting very little help from the Democrats, but I hope when I leave this room I get a call from these people saying ‘Let’s go,’” Trump told GOP legislators gathered at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia.

You know, they talk a good game. We have to get help from either side — or we have to elect many more Republicans. That is another way of doing it. [cheers)’ really, that is another way of doing it. And based on the [election related] numbers we just saw, we have a real chance of doing that.

You know ’18 is going to be very interesting. But we’ve got to do one or the other – either they’re going to have to come on board — because they talk a good game with DACA, but they don’t produce — … either they come on board or we’re just going to have to really work and we’re going to have to get more people so we can get the kind of numbers that we need to pass in a much easier fashion legislation [in 2019].

And to get it done [in 2018], we’ll all have to make some compromises along the way to get it done this way, Now to get it done the other way [in 2019], if we win more [seats], we don’t have to compromise so much, OK?

In his State of the Union address, Trump offered to back an amnesty for the 800,000 people who enrolled in the DACA quasi-amnesty, plus at least 1 million additional unidentified illegals who claim to have arrived as children before 2012.

In exchange, Trump asked $25 billion for his wall, plus legal reforms to fill up legal loopholes in border enforcement, plan an end to the visa lottery and to chain migration.

Ending the lottery and chain migration would trim legal immigration by roughly one-third each year, but only after 2027. The benefit for Americans is delayed because Trump’s offer also accepts all 4 million foreigners now on the chain-migration list.

Trump’s plan is sharply opposed by business groups which recognize that Americans’ wages will be nudged up if they cannot hire imported workers. Those business groups, including the Koch brother, have an outside influence because they provide a huge share of the party’s funding, and they are pressuring GOP legislators to actually increase the inflow of foreign workers.

The four-part Trump plan is also opposed by Democrats, who fear that the reforms will sharply cut the long-term inflow of government-dependent migrants. Also, Democrats simply do not want to publicly endorse Trump’s cuts and his border wall.

Aside from the amnesty, Trump’s pro-American immigration plans are very popularamong the public, including among African-Americans who are a core element of the Democrats’ current electoral base.

Business groups, Democrats and the establishment tout the misleading, industry-funded “Nation of Immigrants” polls which pressure Americans to say they welcome migrants, including the roughly 3 million ‘dreamer’ illegals.

The alternative “priority or fairness” polls — plus the 2016 election — show that voters in the polling booth put a much higher priority on helping their families, neighbors, and fellow nationals get decent jobs in a high-tech, high-immigrationlow-wage economy.

According to the White House transcript, Trump said:

Nearly 7 in 10 Americans support an immigration reform package that includes a permanent solution on DACA.  And I’ve been hearing about DACA for so many years.  Some people call it DREAMers.  It’s not DREAMers.  Don’t fall into that trap.  It’s just much different than DREAMers.  And I said the other night, you know, we have dreamers too.  We have dreamers in this country, too.  You can’t forget our dreamers.  I have a lot of dreamers here.  (Applause.)

But DACA — we want to take care of DACA, and I hope we will.  We need the support of the Democrats in order to do it, and they might not want to do it.  They talk like they do, but I don’t think they do.  But we’re going to find out very soon.

We want something that is very, very tough and strong, in terms of the border.  We need to end chain migration, and we need to cancel the terrible visa lottery.  (Applause.)

And those are the four pillars that I talked about the other night.  We call them the White House framework — a plan that will finally bring our immigration system into the 21st Century.

The Republican position on immigration is the center, mainstream view of the American people, with some extra strength at the border and security at the border added in.  What we’re asking for and what the American people are pleading for is sanity and common sense in our immigration system.  We want immigration rules that protect our communities, defend our security, and admit people who will love our country and contribute to our society.

I know that the Senate is planning to bring an immigration bill on the floor, to the floor, in coming weeks.  And I’m asking that the framework we submitted — with great flexibility, great flexibility, working with both parties — that something very positive will come out of it for our country, for everybody — for our country.  And I think that can happen.

If the Democrats choose to filibuster a framework that includes a generous path to citizenship or something that is not fair, we are not going to approve it.  We’re just not going to approve it.

So we’ll either have something that’s fair and equitable and good and secure, or we’re going to have nothing at all.  And this has been going on for many years.  It doesn’t make sense, however, to have nothing at all, because this is something that people want.

So we will be demonstrating that we are very, very serious.  One of the reasons I gave a number that was, I thought, a very generous number was because I wanted to see whether or not they were interested in approving that.  Because if they don’t approve something within that sphere, that means, very simply, that they’re not looking to approve it at all.  They want to use it for an election issue, but it’s now an election issue that will go to our benefit, not their benefit.

WATCH: California AG Threatens To Prosecute Private Citizens Who Help ICE Enforce Laws

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said on Thursday that the sanctuary state will prosecute any private business that helps federal immigration authorities as they seek to enforce immigration laws that have existed for years.

Becerra’s threat comes as fears continue to mount among Democratic leaders in California that federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are planning massive raids throughout the state, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Speaking at a press conference, Becerra said, “It’s important, given these rumors that are out there, to let people know – more specifically today, employers – that if they voluntarily start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office.”

At the beginning of the year, California became an official “sanctuary state” which prohibits cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

“We will prosecute those who violate the law,” threatened Becerra.

As the Sacramento Bee details, the new law:

  • Requires employers to ask immigration agents for a warrant before granting access to a worksite.
  • Prevents employers from voluntarily sharing confidential employee information without a subpoena.
  • Requires employers to notify their workers before a federal audit of employee records.
  • Gives the attorney general and labor commissioner exclusive authority to enforce new provisions of state labor laws.
  • Prohibits employers from re-verifying information on employment verification forms, unless compelled to by federal law.

‘Super-Sanctuary State’ Created By Governor To Protect Illegals From Deportation

An illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant.

Liberals argue that as long as “undocumented” immigrants do not steal or commit fraud, they should stay. However, they still entered the country without going through the proper government channels. For that, deportation is the punishment. It’s quite simple.

But once again, the Democrats are living in a fantasy world and are doing everything they can to keep illegal aliens in our country. The purpose? To quickly usher them in with a blanket amnesty clause and grant them the right to vote. That would give them the voting base they need to keep their state and federal representatives in the blue.

And one state in particular is forcing its citizens to live alongside these criminals. Incoming New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has declared that a state agency will be created in order to “help” illegals. The reality is, he’s using state resources to keep illegals in his state and protect them from deportation.

In short, he’s aiding and abetting illegal immigrants. And he’s breaking the law.

From The Daily Caller:

Newly inaugurated New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy plans to establish the Garden State as a bastion of far left policies, including a first-of-its-kind government agency devoted exclusively to protecting the rights of legal and illegal immigrants alike.

Murphy, a former Goldman Sachs financier who was swept into office on the back of former Gov. Chris Christie’s historically low approval ratings, told The Washington Post he plans to operationalize the sentiment behind the “sanctuary” movement by establishing an Office of Immigrant Defensive Protection.

While a number of Democratically controlled states have adopted an official policy of non-cooperation with federal immigration authorities, Murphy is seeking to outdo his progressive counterparts by devoting an entire agency to help immigrants navigate the federal immigration bureaucracy.

“It would be a place where everybody could call with questions about their status,” Murphy told WaPo. “Our guess is it’s going to be legal-services-oriented. One remarkable thing, and you probably have seen this, the rumors that swirl around communities are extraordinary, and it’s literally hard to get, particularly if you’re undocumented, the right answer to your question. That’s when people go back into the shadows.”

Murphy believes he can capitalize on the backlash to Christie’s fiscally conservative approach, establishing New Jersey as a testing ground for a progressive movement that’s gained traction with young voters nationally.

In addition to transforming New Jersey into a “welcoming” state — a term he prefers to “sanctuary” — Murphy plans to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana, mandate a $15 minimum wage, and institute a millionaire tax.

Based on all of the progressive plans that this new governor has, perhaps its time for some New Jersey residents to find new homes in other states. As you can see, soon New Jersey will be noted as the California of the East Coast: high illegal immigration traffic, high taxes, etc.

Good luck, New Jersey. You’re going to need it.
