WATCH: Trey Gowdy Blows Lid Off Comey’s Fox News Interview, Mentions ‘Felony’

In an extensive interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson last night, the South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy executively and meticulously took apart some of the former FBI director’s talking points which led up to President Donald Trump’s firing of the former FBI director. In the video below, they stopped short of calling Comey a liar.

This all came about when Comey had an earlier appearance on Fox New’s Special Report with Bret Baier where he made a series of odd claims from his time as FBI director while he was investigating the now disproven “collusion” between the Donald Trump presidential campaign and the Kremlin.

Comey told Baier that he isn’t sure exactly how much of the debunked ” Trump Dossier” created by former British spy Christopher Steele was paid for by the Democrat National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign.

He followed the claim by downplaying the importance this dossier had in obtaining the wiretap warrant to spy on Carter Page who is a Trump associate. Comey denied that he engaged in leaking when he secretly gave his confidential memos about his meeting with Trump to a friend to have them published in The New York Times.

The Conservative Tribune provided more information on the exchange between Trey Gowdy and Tucker Carlson: “Carlson zeroed in on those issues with Gowdy.

“He doesn’t remember a lot,” Carlson said. “He doesn’t remember when he first heard about the Steele dossier. He doesn’t remember who told him about the Steele dossier. Is that plausible?”

Gowdy, whose reputation for exactness in language and tenacity in grilling witnesses have earned him the nickname “Bulldog,” was having none of Comey’s latest line. It wasn’t plausible at all, he said.

“If he learned about it in the fall of 2016, and it was already known that the Democrats had picked up on that work, so, whoever briefed him… Why would you just say the Republicans started it but not also include the Democrats finished it? So that, that …”

Gowdy didn’t have to say, “that’s a lie.” Anyone listening understood it.

He then turned to how Comey minimalized the role the dossier played in the FBI’s application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court when it was seeking a warrant to investigate Trump associate Carter Page as an alleged “agent of a foreign power.”

“I’ve actually read the application, and it is just wrong,” Gowdy said. “It was an indispensable part of the application. Period.”

But it was Comey’s denial in the Baier interview that he’d “leaked” information that Gowdy hit the hardest. In Comey’s world, apparently, a “leak” only occurs when the information that’s surreptitiously released involves information that’s officially considered “classified” by the government.

Gowdy blasted that for the nonsense it is.

“The other thing that I will tell you, Tucker, that I learned tonight is Jim Comey has a definition of the word ‘leak’ that no one else has,” Gowdy said.

“What he says is a leak is what the rest of us call a felony,” Gowdy said. “Leaking is disclosing a confidential conversation which is exactly what he did.”

They were only three of the points Gowdy covered, but they blew the lid off key parts of the story Comey’s shilling as he travels the publicity circuit to peddle the memoirs he titled “A Higher Loyalty.”

He’s been getting a respectful greeting from liberals like ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, and he’s been getting grilled by interviewers like Baier.

But whatever their politics, few know the inside story about Comey the way Gowdy does, a member of the House Intelligence Committee whose years as a federal prosecutor have given him an insight into law enforcement most American civilians can’t match.”

Critics claim that the former FBI Director is more in tune with one political party over the other and appears as though he wanted to help sway Hillary towards victory in the 2016 election.

The alleged corruption appears difficult to investigate because there seem to be various levels of corruption amid drama and side stories within the realm of politics.  Some Americans worry about the internal corruption that might affect the outcome of the presidency and interrupt with the action plan set in place by Donald Trump and his administration.

Please share your thoughts below and tell us what you think about the situation with former FBI Director James Comey. Was Trey Gowdy accurate in what he said?

Hannity’s ethics under fire

Fox News host’s failure to disclose his relationship with Trump attorney Michael Cohen puts his credibility on the line.

Sean Hannity has wavered over the years on whether he is a journalist or conservative activist, but ethics specialists say that whichever hat the Fox News host was wearing last week when he condemned the FBI raid on attorney Michael Cohen’s office, he should have disclosed that he’s a client of Cohen’s.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a newspaper reporter or an opinion journalist,” said Indira Lakshmanan, the journalism ethics chair at the Poynter Institute. “If you want to maintain credibility with an audience, and be honest with them, you have to disclose all facts.”

Just hours after the raid on the office of Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Hannity inveighed that special counsel Robert Mueller had “declared war against the president of the United States.” But Hannity didn’t disclose that he, too, had received legal advice from Cohen. Hannity’s relationship with the embattled attorney was revealed during Monday’s hearing over materials gathered during the raid — and only after a judge pressed Cohen’s attorney on the identity of a previously unnamed third client.

The omission raised questions about whether Hannity had violated journalistic ethics — or whether he was a journalist at all.

Hannity has shifted in recent years on that point. “I never claimed to be a journalist,” Hannity told The New York Times in 2016 when asked about his informal advising of then-candidate Trump. The next year, Hannity referred to himself in a Times magazine profile as an “opinion journalist” or “advocacy journalist.” He said last month that his show “breaks news daily” in response to colleague Shep Smith characterizing Fox News’ prime-time lineup as entertainment.

Kathleen Bartzen Culver, director of the Center for Journalism Ethics at the University of Wisconsin, said you don’t “move out of the realm of ethics when we move into the realm of opinion.” She said commentators should still be expected to maintain independence from subjects they are covering and disclose relevant ties.

“This is not a small matter,” she said. “We’re talking about one of the most important new stories of this time and he did not disclose his connection to it while commenting on it. His audience deserves to know when he has connections that may be affecting that commentary.”

Bartzen Culver added: “An organization needs to have standards for the people who do its reporting or commenting.”

Hannity, the top-rated Fox News host and an especially influential voice in the Trump era, appears to have few constraints at the network. He immediately began discussing the Cohen situation on his afternoon radio show and tweeted responses to the controversy.

A Fox News spokesperson did not directly respond to a question about Hannity not disclosing his relationship to Cohen, but provided a statement from the host.

“Michael Cohen has never represented me in any matter. I never retained him, received an invoice, or paid legal fees,” Hannity said. “I have occasionally had brief discussions with him about legal questions about which I wanted his input and perspective. I assumed those conversations were confidential, but to be absolutely clear they never involved any matter between me and a third party.”

On Twitter, Hannity disputed reporting by Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman that he brought in Cohen last year when facing an advertiser boycott spurred by progressive groups over his fueling of the Seth Rich conspiracy theory. “What part of Michael and I never discussed anything that involved any third party is so hard to understand?” Hannity tweeted.

On Fox News’ “The Five,” Juan Williams said there was no evidence Cohen was involved in any third-party disputes on Hannity’s behalf, as was the case with Trump and Republican National Committee Deputy Finance Chair Elliott Broidy. Cohen arranged to pay $130,000 to adult film star Stormy Daniels for her silence over an alleged affair with Trump and reportedly negotiated a $1.6 million payment to a former Playboy model who claimed Broidy impregnated her.

But Williams questioned why Hannity “didn’t disclose this earlier.”

“Why when Sean was on the air, strongly an advocate for President Trump, not saying, ‘Hey, I’ve got a relationship with the lawyer?’” Williams asked. “I think that’s a question.”

JUST IN: CNN Devastated By Ratings… “It’s humiliating”

Yesterday we brought you the story of Sean Hannity and Fox News receiving a massive boost in the cable news ratings industry, which makes perfect sense as Americans are sick and tired of the liberal, attack-Trump media and choose guys like Hannity instead.

But today, CNN’s ratings are in and let’s just say that we’re betting more than a few people get a free box to pack their stuff in…

Daily Caller reports:

CNN’s ratings are continuing their fall, with many viewers choosing to watch other cable news channels like MSNBC or Fox News instead.

Forbes reports:

“CNN had significant declines in February, with ratings dropping 19% in total day and 16% in prime, where the network returned an average audience of 979,000 total viewers–behind MSNBC (1.805 million) and Fox News (2.766 million).”

According to one measure, not a single CNN show even cracked the top 20 for viewers in weekday cable news in February:

https://twitter.com/seanmdav/status/969304121328185344

Many of CNN’s commentators have been consistent critics of President Trump and his policies.

Fox News’ Sean Hannity, meanwhile, is the ratings king, with Tucker Carlson right behind him.

The one show that did get into the top 25 was “Anderson Cooper 360,” which sits at the 24th spot. Fox News’ “The Five” and “Ingraham Angle,” as well as MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” are beating all of CNN’s shows.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow is also doing well, with the number three show behind Tucker’s.

CNN’s ratings are much lower than they were during the same time last year.

For the week of February 12-18, the network’s total primetime viewers were 27% lower than the ratings at a comparable time in 2017

Fox News And Hannity Get Major Ratings Surprise

And the ratings surprise is well deserved! Thank goodness for Fox News and Sean Hannity for telling the truth while the rest of the media lies!

Breitbart reports:

With an average of 3.3 million viewers, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity extends his status as the King of Cable News to five months, reports Forbes.
In second place is Fox’s Tucker Carlson, who averaged 3.144 million viewers.

Next up is the now-deposed Rachel Maddow, whose MSNBC show was number one in 2017. She is now in third place with 2.874 million average viewers.

Of every basic cable channel, including ESPN, USA, TNT, etc., Fox News is the most-watched and has been for 20 straight months.

Overall, Fox averaged a whopping 2.8 million viewers during primetime and only lost -3 percent of viewers when compared to February of last year.

CNN, on the other hand, is collapsing.

The far-left cable channel averaged only a measly 979,000 primetime viewers, a catastrophic drop of -16 percent when compared to last year. The anti-Trump network lost a whopping -19 percent of its total day viewers.

With its ongoing and well-documented fake news crisis, Democrats appear to be fleeing in droves from the basement-rated CNN, choosing instead to watch MSNBC. CNN’s entire foundation is based on the existential lie that it is an unbiased and objective news outlet. MSNBC is not only not as hysterically far left as CNN, it does not lie about its biases. And so, MSNBC captured nearly twice as many primetime viewers as CNN (1.805 million) and grew its audience by slightly better margins then CNN’s double-digit shrinkage.

Nevertheless, Fox News’s 2.8 million primetime viewers almost perfectly equals the combined viewership of CNN and MSNBC.

The news gets even worse for the disgraced CNN when you look at the individual shows. Not a single CNN program ranks in the top 20. Anderson Cooper finally pops up at #24.

And waaaaaay at the bottom is Chris Cuomo’s widely-ridiculed morning show New Day. Other than MSNBC’s and CNN’s super-early 5am programs, New Day is the least watched program of the three major cable news networks, coming in at a humiliating #42 with only 607,000 total viewers.

Even MSNBC’s Morning Joe wallops Fredo, with 1.061 million viewers.

Fox and Friend almost wallops them both combined with 1.6 million viewers.

Additionally, Anderson Cooper was the only CNN anchor able to barely squeak over a million average viewers (1.077 million). No one else at CNN could even do that.

CNN’s credibility death spiral is having a devastating effect on its ratings.

Charles Krauthammer: Recovery from surgery ‘progressing steadily slower than I would like, but steadily’

Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer said in a statement read on Fox News on Tuesday that he is still recovering from surgery and that his progress is moving “steadily slower” than he would like.

Still, he expressed optimism about an eventual return to TV.

“Special Report” anchor Bret Baier shared the brief update on Krauthammer on his evening show, where Krauthammer has long been a panelist. Baier, who said he constantly keeps in contact with Krauthammer, said that of all the questions he gets from viewers on social media, Krauthammer’s status tops the list.

“Things are progressing steadily slower than I would like, but steadily,” Krauthammer message said. “Still I wish I could give you — and myself — a better idea of when this marathon ends. I am sure it is strange for your viewers that a regular panelist should disappear for months without warning and without any real explanation.”

“After my surgery, there were serious complications that took several months to stabilize,” the message continued. “My improvement has finally allowed me to concentrate on intensive rehabilitation to recover my strength and stamina. This too is progressing well but as usual is intense and slow. Nonetheless, I am determined to make it back. I’ve got to — I can’t let you guys have all the fun.”

https://twitter.com/BretBaier/status/966101602699501568

Baier added that everyone at the show misses Krauthammer and his voice on “the big issues.”

“We continue to hope and pray for your speedy recovery. And until then, we’ll keep your spot warm right here,” Baier added.

Neither Krauthammer nor Fox News have disclosed details about Krauthammer’s surgery.

Baier said in early October, responding to fans asking about Krauthammer’s condition, that Krauthammer had undergone pre-planned surgery recommended by his doctors and “ran into some complications” after the operation. He hasn’t tweeted since early August.

Krauthammer, 67, became permanently paralyzed below the waist due to a diving accident while he attended Harvard Medical School. He later finished his degree but later left the field of psychiatry for journalism. He has worked for a number of publications over the years and won a Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1987.

POLL: Do You Support Judge Jeanine Calling Obama A Terrorist On Fox News?

Even before her entrance into politics, Judge Jeanine Pirro was fierce district attorney, garnering an impressive 100 percent conviction rate. For most of her time on television she was the subject of “Justice With Judge Jeanine” – a Judge Judyesque show.

Now she’s turned to politics, and it’s politicians feeling her wrath. A common target? President Barack Obama, of course. While we’ve reported on her rants before where she sticks it to him, she made some comments recently that some think way too far.
Here they are, courtesy of Right Alerts:
Fox News Judge Jeanine Calls Obama A “Terrorist” On National Television. In classic a Judge Jeanine rant, she calls out the left and specifically President Obama for “apologizing” for radical Islam even when Americans are killed. She went so far as to call Obama a “terrorist”. The backlash from the white house and the left was swift and harsh. Since Obama has already shown he will use his government thugs to target US citizens, Judge Jeanine may be in trouble.
What do you all think? The context was after Philadelphia’s mayor denied any terror link after an ISIS-inspired shooter killed a police officer. And of course, Barack Obama is also in the camp that seems to think that Islamic extremism has nothing to do with Islam. These are the same liberals who are deluded enough to think that the Nazis – that is, the NATIONAL SOCIALISTS, were right-wing.
You’d think in cases like this, the name alone should be enough. What exactly is motivating their abject denial of reality? You know for a fact that if there was some kind of Christian equivalent of ISIS, liberals would actually care (and Christians would denounce the group!)

Fox News Host Rips Ted Cruz After He Was Caught In A Lie During Interview With MSNBC Reporter

Fox News host Shep Smith took an on-air jab at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who was caught in a lie earlier in the day after he claimed to be against government shutdowns — despite voting for one in 2013.

“[Cruz is] very much against shutdowns,” Smith joked. “I heard him say it today so I know it’s true.”

When the Texas Republican blamed “angry” Democrats for shutting down the federal government in an attempt to derail President Trump’s agenda, MSNBC congressional correspondent Kasie Hunt pointed out his role in helping to engineer the 2013 shutdown.

“They’re angry, they hate the president and demanding Senate Democrats oppose everything, resist everything, shut everything down,” Cruz told reporters.

“‘Green Eggs and Ham?’” Hunt interrupted, reminding Cruz of the Dr. Seuss children’s book he read during a 2013 filibuster.

“In 2013, I voted repeatedly to fund the government, and in 2013 it was Harry Reid and the democrats who voted no, who voted to shut the government down just like this week Republicans voted to fund the government, and it was Chuck Schumer who voted to shut the government down,” Cruz said.

“We should not be shutting the government down,” Cruz said. “I have consistently opposed shutdowns. In 2013 I said we shouldn’t shut the government down. I went to the floor asking unanimous consent to reopen the government.”

“Sir, you stood in the way of that,” Hunt said.

Cruz fired back saying Hunt was “factually incorrect.”

“That was an interesting exchange,” Hunt said after her exchange with cruz. “I would just like to say, I was going back and forth with the senator. He’s technically correct about the way that the procedure of this played out, but there is no question about how the government shutdown unfolded in 2013, which is that Senate Republicans pushed to defund Obamacare.”

“Ted Cruz angered many of his own colleagues, there were testy meetings, he was essentially an outcast,” she continued. “Mitch McConnell was not happy with him, and the government shut down because clearly Senate Democrats were not going to go along with a budget agreement that defunded Obamacare. The dynamics were a little different, but if there’s any comparison to be made here it would be in this particular case Democrats obviously do not control the Senate. They were making certain demands about what is included in a measure, refused to provide the votes for a shutdown. So I think if you want to make a comparison, you can compare Senate Democrats to Ted Cruz.

Shep Smith’s Stunt On Live TV Has Viewers Demanding Fox To Fire Him

Fox News is often considered to be a “conservative” news network. But not everyone on the network supports the GOP.

Several of their personalities have shown not just liberal views, but outright hostility towards conservatives. The network booted Megyn Kelly over her outrageous behavior. But still lurking in the network is Shep Smith.

Despite his long-running time on the network, it seems like Shep is hardly a Trump-lover. He recently outright attacked the President. There was only one problem, what he said was completely false.

Now viewers are raging mad.

From Lynx Media:

Fox News’s Shep Smith on Wednesday “fact-checked” President Trump after the president claimed that the Russia investigation is a “Democratic hoax.”

“The president again calling the Russia investigation a ‘Democratic hoax’,” Smith said. “It is not. Fox News has been reporting and will continue to report that two people have pleaded guilty.”

Smith then brought up the indictments of Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos…

Trump repeated his claims that there was “no collusion” between his campaign and Russia. And so far, there’s no evidence that there was any sort of coordination.

“There was absolutely no collusion, everybody knows it. I’ve been in office for 11 months, for 11 months they’ve had this phony cloud over this administration, over our government, and it has hurt our government,” Trump said.

These are the kinds of tactics you’d expect from fake news outlets. Shep claims the Russian investigation has led to two people pleading guilty. He doesn’t mention those “pleas” have nothing to do with Russian collusion.

Both Flynn and Papadopoulos plead guilty to process crimes. They weren’t not factual in how they answered questions to the FBI. That is not the same as colluding with Russia to steal the 2016 election. In fact, the only group that seemed to be working with Russia was Hillary’s campaign. Yet where is her investigation.

It’s obvious Mueller’s probe is a waste of time. It was started by a former FBI head who wanted to stick it to Trump. There is no basis for this waste of time and money.

Perhaps Shep is too stupid to realize that. Or perhaps, he’s letting his bias get in the way of his job.

Fox News Makes Major Impeachment Move, Millions Furious !!!

With one anti-Trump ad campaign receiving plenty of coverage from mainstream news outlets, one network decided that one perticular advertisement was in bad taste.

Fox News announced that “Due to the strong negative reaction to their ad by our viewers, we could not in good conscience take their money,” canceling the Trump impeachment ad outright, according to one Twitter post.

Tom Steyer, a Democrat supporter and billionaire hedge fund operator, launched a $10 million television ad calling for the impeachment of President Trump and asking viewers to sign a petition urging him to do so. According to his lawyer, Brad Deutsch, more than 1.5 million people have already signed the petition.

Among other things, Mr. Steyer said in the ad that President Trump is “mentally unstable” as well as “armed with nuclear weapons.” He also criticized Mr. Trump for firing FBI Director James Comey as well as bringing the US to “the brink of nuclear war,” according to The Washington Examiner.

However, Fox News decided to cancel the advertisement, which, according to a Twitter post from CNN’s Brian Stelter, had a strong adverse reaction from their largely Trump supporting viewer base.

“Fox News trying to silence the 1.7 million who have already signed our impeachment petition,” tweeted Mr. Steyer in response, after hearing about the news network’s decision.

The billionaire also said in an official statement on Friday that “Millions of Americans have raised their voices in opposition to Donald Trump,” adding that if “If Fox News is siding with Trump and trying to silence us, they must be afraid of what we have to say. It shows no respect for democracy.”

The Democrat mega-donor spent over $90 million trying to elect Democrat candidates to stop the President since the 2016 presidential election.

“Wacky & totally unhinged Tom Steyer, who has been fighting me and my Make America Great Again agenda from beginning, never wins elections!” Mr. Trump tweeted about the billionaire.

Deutsch took note of the President’s tweet in a letter to Fox News where he accused the network of violating his client’s First Amendment rights as well as breaching their contract. “It is no coincidence that the Cancellation of the Advertisement, in the second week of its run, came on the heels of a tweet from President Trump, criticizing the spot and Mr. Steyer personally.”

He further called this move a “profound failure of journalistic integrity,” as well as a suppression of free speech likely the cause of political pressure from the Trump administration, according to Politico.

Although a critical supporter of the Democrat Party, Mr. Steyer’s tactics are causing a divide within the organization, as many top Democrats feel that creating further drama and attacking the President will not help them in the long term. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), has said that she prefers the party to move away from calling for Mr. Trump’s impeachment.

When asked what she thought about Tom Steyer’s ad on MSNBC, she said, “That’s a great ad,” before switching the topic. Ms. Pelosi has previously expressed that fostering an image as the “no drama” party was key to winning back the White House in the coming elections. When asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday whether or not they would fight to impeach the President, she responded by saying “It’s not some place that I think we should go.”

It’s no surprise that Fox News withdrew this advertisement from their network as most Trump-supporting Americans wouldn’t agree with its message.

Fox News will no longer allow a Trump impeachment advertisement to be broadcast on their channel. Did they do the right thing?
