The Heavily Decorated Army Major Escorting Trump At Billy Graham’s Funeral Is Graham’s War Hero Grandson

Donald Trump arrived at Billy Graham’s funeral in North Carolina Friday, where he was escorted by a very special member of the Graham family.

As POTUS walked to the tent where Graham’s family and dignitaries were gathered, he was met halfway by a uniformed Army Major. The two saluted each other and the Major escorted the first and second families to their seats.

What many watching may not know is the identity of that man. He is Billy Graham’s grandson, Edward. Edward graduated from West Point and served seven tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was once injured by shrapnel from an IED.

Graham escorted the family and left Trump at his chair with a salute.

Graham was also in Washington, DC, for his grandfather’s service at the United States Capitol. Graham stood for hours, shaking the hands of all of those who were there to pay honor to Billy Graham. Edward’s father, Franklin Graham, told The Daily Caller, “These people stood outside for us and for my father.” He continued, “I will stand here for them. We love them and so does God.”

President Trump Takes $1.4B From Bloated Government Program, Gives It All Back To America

Image result for President Trump Takes $1.4B From Bloated Government Program, Gives It All Back To America

Saving our country from the D.C. swamp slugs is hard work, but Donald just gave Americans a billion dollars back.

President Trump promised to save Americans money. And boy did he mean it. Since taking office, he’s slashed the size of the federal government. That means less cash is being spent by the swamp slugs in D.C.

The tax bill-now-law will further reduce the amount of money the government wastes. It will force the federal government to be much more responsible with how it spends our money.

Now news is breaking that the master of deal-making has landed another big win for the U.S. One that amounts to $1.4 big ones.

From Breitbart:

President Donald Trump struck a deal with Boeing for two new Air Force One planes, according to the White House, that saves the United State government of $1.4 billion.

The agreement is “informal” according to a Fox News report but satisfies Trump’s request to cut the program down to size and save taxpayer money…

The new deal cuts the program down to size at $3.9 billion…

“Thanks to the president’s negotiations, the contract will save the taxpayers more than $1.4 billion,” Dep. Press Secretary Hogan Gidley told Fox News.

Boeing was even happy about the arrangement. They stated they were proud to be making these planes, applauding President Trump for the deal.

It’s amazing to see what’s going on. For years America has been cheated by foreign countries and big business. All because our leaders were inept and unable to negotiate. Donald Trump is no pushover. He knows how to make a great deal, after years in the cutthroat world of real estate.

This comes at an important time. It appears that the current planes being used were constructed in the Reagan-era. Yeah, I think those planes could use retirement. So not only is Trump securing modern, safer aircraft for the White House, he’s doing it while saving money.

Can’t complain about that.

This kind of financial savvy is being seen across the administration. President Trump’s insightful leadership is bringing wins across the country. From better trade deals, to lower taxes, to better national security, Trump is winning for Americans.

Nolte: Trump Delivers Peace and Prosperity as Chicken Little Media Freak Out — Again

Of course, what happens in the White House is news. Everything involving a U.S. president is news. This includes personnel changes, and we have covered those here at Breitbart. What is beyond absurd, though, what is so far out of touch with mainstream America, are the media’s unrelenting obsession and constant freakout over castle intrigue.

Because, honestly, out here in the real world, no one gives a hi-ho-hearty damn about who is up/down/in/out in the West Wing. Even if we believe the news reports (and smart people mostly do not), the machinations, gossip, innuendo, melodrama, and whisper campaigns have no effect whatsoever on us.

And we certainly do not judge how well the ship of state is being steered based on what we are told by a sinking media institution with a 22 percent approval rating.

About two years ago, it happened to me at the dump. Even in the middle of an intense workweek during an intense presidential campaign, the garbage must be dealt with. And so, with my brain completely fried by cable news and social media, and as I was unloading all that trash, I realized that no one else unloading their trash cared at all about My World. They were just living their lives.

Later that week, the same thing happened at Walmart and Lowe’s Hardware and church, the place where I get what is left of my hair cut…No one cared about My World because My World was not even a world. It was a bubble generated by the aforementioned cable news and social media.

No joke, my own personal Road to Damascus moment happened at a landfill. That was when I began to realize that the media do not reflect or even report on reality, but rather attempt to manufacture a reality to suit a political agenda, which is exactly what is happening now. (That was also when I removed that pipeline of poison from my home by canceling my cable TV.)

The chasm between the media and the real world grew a little wider last week.

In their never-ending effort to trip up Trump, 500 left-wing pundits-disguised-as-journalists coordinated all of their focus on…White House personnel issues. Things must be going awfully well in the world when the media are allowed to enjoy the luxury of gossiping non-stop about what is happening in the human resources department.

Meanwhile, out here in the Real World, all we can see is that things are at long last looking up.

Wages up are, taxes are down, decent jobs are being created, optimism has returned, the stock market is headed in the right direction, ISIS is shattered, we are not starting any stupid wars, and even as the media manufacture one hurricane after another, our president keeps right on keeping on.

Last week is a perfect example. While the media were telling us it was time to freak out because someone named Hicks resigned (no offense, but who?), Trump was keeping another big campaign promise, breaking another economic record (in a good way), actively engaged in seeking a real solution to these school shootings, doing presidential things like attending the funeral of Rev. Billy Graham, and using his social media accounts to speak directly to us — to keep us up to date, not only with what he is doing, but with his thought process.

While Trump is Steady Freddie, while he keeps his promises (at a record level), and fixes the economy, the only institution that is out of control, frenzied, and neurotic, is the media. But these days, everything destabilizes and panics the media. This Fourth Estate of ours, which has no poise, grace, or gravitas, can keep right on pushing that panic button; no one with half a brain is falling for it.

While Chicken Little assures us the sky is falling, out here in Real America, and for the first time since September 10, 2001, all we see is the long overdue return of peace and prosperity.

The media should think about taking out their trash. Because we are just not listening anymore…

And this is why Trump is moving his re-election resources to Facebook.

Senate Votes 73-23 To Decimate Obama’s Most Influential Legacy, Barack In Big Trouble

Here’s another legacy Obama can kiss goodbye.

Former President Barack Obama exited office a little more than a year ago with a rather large grin on his face.

Fast forward to today, and there’s a good possibility that smile has been turned upside down.

Slowly but surely, President Donald Trump and the GOP-led Congress are chipping away at the damage that Obama has left behind. Some of those efforts have led to immediate dividends, while others will be the equivalent of a gift that keeps on giving for years to come.

This particular vote by the Senate should be a wake-up call to Barack. Even some of his own Democratic lawmakers have seen the light and realize that Obama’s most influential legacy has to end, and now.

Washington Times has the details:

The U.S. Senate confirmed another one of President Trump’s federal appeals court judges on Tuesday, advancing the president’s pledge to place dozens of conservative loyalists on the federal bench.

Judge Elizabeth L. Branch was confirmed by a 73 to 23 to sit on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Branch has served on the Georgia Court of Appeals since 2012.

Trump has been in office for just a little over a year, but Branch is already the 14th circuit court judge that has been confirmed over that time frame.

It doesn’t appear that the floodgates will be closed up anytime soon either.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, is also preparing to bring four federal district court judges to the floor for confirmation votes over the next several days. Those nominations include: Marvin Quattlebaum Jr. for the District of South Carolina, Karen Scholer for the Northern District of Texas, Tilman Eugene Self III for the Middle District of Georgia and Terry Doughty for the Western District of Louisiana.

Additional judges on the bench that prioritize the actual rule of law over the liberal agenda is a huge win for everyone – except Obama and his cronies, that is. In short, no more legislate-from-the-bench judges will be infiltrating our judicial branch and undermining the rule of law ever again!

Of course, the fact that Obama may be feeling a little down that his legacy is in tatters is just icing on the cake.

What really matters is that there will be a lot more sanity emanating from judicial benches as opposed to completely haphazard politicizing based on the whims of those that swing the gavel. And this is a huge win for Americans and our democratic republic.

Trump Proposes Death Penalty For Drug Dealers… Liberals Are Raging Mad

Imagine that… liberals mad because a death penalty option is being considered for drug dealers.

Politico reports:

President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested using the death penalty on drug dealers to address the opioid epidemic, equating providing lethal drugs with murder.

“We have pushers and drugs dealers, they are killing hundreds and hundreds of people,” Trump said at a White House summit on opioid abuse. “If you shoot one person, they give you life, they give you the death penalty. These people can kill 2,000, 3,000 people and nothing happens to them.”

Trump said countries that impose the death penalty on drug dealers have a better record than the United States in combating substance abuse.

“Some countries have a very, very tough penalty — the ultimate penalty — and by the way, they have much less of a drug problem than we do,” he said.

The remarks follow media reports earlier this week that Trump has privately praised countries like Singapore that mandate the death penalty for drug traffickers, arguing a softer approach to substance abuse won’t be successful.

The remarks are likely to rankle administration critics who have urged the White House to focus on the public health component of the opioid crisis. The president’s remarks did not touch on health approaches like providing additional funding for treatment.

“It makes us all very nervous” that the U.S. could move back to a “penal-first approach,” said Andrew Kessler, who leads Slingshot Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in behavioral health policy that advocates for substance abuse treatment and prevention. “I have no love for high-level traffickers or cartels, but a very high percentage of people who sell drugs do it to support their own habit.”

What Trump Did For 18 Green Berets Is Wowing Americans… “We’re Not Supposed To Do This…”

What President Trump did for 18 Green Berets was perhaps the most respectable move of his young presidency — and it went completely unreported by the mainstream media for weeks.

Recently, Trump met with a new class of Green Beret candidates and brought them into the Oval Office for special photos — which makes this a first in the course’s entire history.

Breitbart reports:

The 18 Army officers in the Special Forces Qualification Course, or “Q-course,” were visiting the National Security Council, as a normal part of the course.

But this time, Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka, who was scheduled to speak to the students, had suggested that they meet the president.

The plan was to take them into the Roosevelt Room in the West Wing of the White House, but Trump decided to invite them into the Oval Office, to take pictures with them for their families.

“Halfway through the discussion, [Trump] said, ‘Hey — we’re not supposed to do this but follow me, and he brought them all into the Oval Office, took a group photograph around the Resolute desk, and then — throwing the schedules into a bit of a tizzy, said OK that’s not good enough,’” Gorka told Breitbart News in an interview.

“He said, ‘everybody stand in the corner.’ They all stood in the corner, and one-by-one we took photographs they can take home to their family with each future Green Beret next to the president at the Oval Office desk,” Gorka said.

“That’s how much he loves our soldiers — our warriors,” he said. Gorka had earlier brought up the meeting during remarks on a panel at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday. Under Obama, he said, they “wouldn’t have even gotten into the West Wing.”

President Trump has expressed great patriotism and care for veterans since his time in office. On his inauguration day, he was seen tearing up with American pride at the sight of energetic Wounded Warriors marching in the Inaugural parade.

On Thanksgiving, he had words of encouragement for members of the military in a teleconference, exclaiming his gratefulness for their “tremendous courage.”

“You’re very, very special people to me, and to everyone in this country, that I can tell you,” Trump said in the video conference from his Mar-a-Lago resort.

“Surrounding me is a lot of press, better me than you, believe me fellas, better me than you,” he continued. “It’s an honor to speak with you all, to give God thanks for the blessing of freedom, heroes, tremendous courage. Very, very special people. It doesn’t get more special.”

The president specifically addressed the first brigade combat team of the 82nd Airborne in Kandahar, Afghanistan, praising a decorated service member named Toby.

“Toby – where is Toby? Raise your hand, Toby. I hear so many good things about you Toby. That’s good news,” Trump said before addressing the entire unit, praising the soldiers as “brave, incredible fighters.”

Trump also addressed the Marine Corps, praising his chief of staff John Kelly.

“Semper Fi. I have a great Marine who’s the chief of staff, as you know, John Kelly. Doing an incredible job just like any Marine would. And Major, to you and to all the Marines doing this great work,” Trump said. “We’re being talked about again as an armed forces. We’re really winning. We know how to win. But we have to let you win. They weren’t letting you win before. They were letting you play even. We’re letting you win.”

Trump again took a dig at reporters toward the end of his speech.

And it’s not just talk — he’s putting his money where his mouth is.

Mid-December, Trump signed into law a sweeping defense policy bill that “authorizes a $700 billion budget for the military, including additional spending on missile defense programs to counter North Korea’s growing nuclear weapons threat.”

“Our budget this year — as you know, well over $700 billion — is getting us back to the position we have to be,” Trump told a gathering of U.S. military leaders on Oct. 5. “Almost never have we needed a great, powerful, strong, and brilliant military — and that’s where we are and that’s where we’re going, and going very rapidly.”

President Trump’s presence in the White House is a victory in and of itself for Americans and our military. When it’s time for troops to deploy and a war is to be fought, America will have strong leadership in Defense Secretary Mattis and renewed confidence in having the best and most high-tech equipment and transportation in the world.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s Facebook Engagement Declined By 45 Percent Following Algorithm Change

Engagement on Donald Trump’s Facebook posts has dropped by approximately 45 percent since the platform introduced a new algorithm change, following a year of pressure from left-wing employees and the mainstream media for “allowing” the President to win the 2016 general election.

In January, Facebook introduced a major change to its newsfeed algorithm. In a post, CEO Mark Zuckerberg claimed that the change aimed to give greater emphasis to posts from “friends, family and groups” and less to “businesses, brands and media.” The change was followed by a promise to promote what Facebook calls “broadly trusted” news sources on the platform.

In the month following the algorithm change, engagement on Donald Trump’s Facebook posts dropped sharply. Total engagement dropped by approximately 45 percent, according to data from leading social media analytics firm NewsWhip. In an email to Breitbart News, a representative of Newswhip confirmed that Breitbart’s reading of the data was accurate.

Average engagement on Trump’s Facebook posts following the algorithm change also dropped significantly, by approximately 38 percent.

The decline in engagement on Trump’s Facebook cannot be attributed to a drop in posting frequency on the part of Trump. In the 13 days prior to Facebook’s algorithm change (28 Dec – 10 Jan), Trump made 67 posts, with no significant drop in engagement. After the change, Trump posted at roughly the same rate – between 59 and 67 posts in each 13-day period, but was still met with the dramatic decline in engagement seen above.

When compared to high-profile Democratic political figures, Trump’s engagement appears to have been hit particularly badly. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders do not appear to have suffered a comparable decline in Facebook engagement.

Even if they did face a similar decline, it would not be comparable in terms of impact. As the graph above shows, they are far less successful on Facebook than President Trump, which means they have far less to lose. Currently, any change that reduces the reach or engagement of public figures on Facebook will disproportionately affect Trump when compared to public figures with much lower engagement.

In a comment to Breitbart News, Facebook appeared to acknowledge that their algorithm change might have caused Trump’s engagement numbers to fall. A Facebook representative highlighted the following section of their post announcing the algorithm change:

Pages may see their reach, video watch time and referral traffic decrease. The impact will vary from Page to Page, driven by factors including the type of content they produce and how people interact with it.

Facebook’s algorithm change came after a year of pressure from the mediapoliticians, and employees inside Facebook following the election of Donald Trump. Facebook was accused of helping Trump win the election, spreading Russian propaganda and fake news, and creating partisan echo chambers.

In a piece entitled “Inside Facebook’s Two Years of Hell,” Wired highlighted the threat from legislators with a foreboding quote from Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. “You’ve created these platforms, and now they’re being misused, and you have to be the ones to do something about it … or we will.”

Mark Zuckerberg drew curiosity from the media when he said recent changes to the platform would cause users to spend less time on Facebook — and that this was intentional. Why would any social media company want users to spend less time on their platform? At the time, Slate suggested that the company had been so battered by a year of public scrutiny over its political influence that it was now choosing to abdicate that influence by making the platform less lucrative for political figures.

There’s only one snag – punishing public figures across their platform will disproportionately affect those who rely on it the most. In an environment where the mainstream media is stacked against their movements, that is usually going to be populist candidates like Donald Trump.

Facebook can expect scrutiny given Donald Trump’s appointment of Brad Parscale as his 2020 election campaign chief. Parscale was the Trump campaign’s digital guru in 2016, and credited Facebook as the crucial factor in Trump’s victory. If Trump’s reach and engagement are being disproportionately cut back on the world’s biggest social network, it’s unlikely to escape his notice.

Report: Trump Jumped Out of Limo to Stop Mugging in 1991

US President Donald Trump looks on from the presidential limo, nicknamed The Beast, following his arrival at Hanoi's Noi Bai airport on November 11, 2017. According to a New York Daily News report dated November 20, 1991, when he spotted a “big guy with a big bat” beating on another guy, Donald Trump told his limousine driver to pull over. Witnesses told the paper,  that “with [then-girlfriend] Marla Maples tugging at his arm to try to stop him, [Trump] leaped from his black stretch limousine Monday evening during the Manhattan assault.”

The Manhattan billionaire, who was 45 at the time, told the story from there. “The guy with the bat looked at me, and I said, “Look, you’ve gotta stop this. Put down the bat. I guess he recognized me because he said, ‘Mr. Trump, I didn’t do anything wrong.’ I said, ‘How could you not do anything wrong when you’re whacking a guy with a bat?’ Then he ran away.”

Trump added that he saw the mugger deliver “five or six good whacks” before he put a stop to it.

Witness accounts varied. One young woman says Trump only got out of his limo only to see what was going on after it had already happened and the mugger was long gone.

Another witness, though, backed The Donald’s account. “All of a sudden, a big long limousine pulls up on an angle, and Donald Trump pops out with the blond, too,” the unnamed witness said. “There was a guy with a bat, hitting a guy over the head, and Trump yelled, ‘Put that bat down. What are you doing?’ The guy dropped the bat, came over and started talking to him.”

Trump, who was on his way to a Paula Abdul concert, said that he only left the scene when he knew an ambulance was on the way and saw that the victim was being treated by a witness who appeared to be a doctor.

At the time, there was no police report filed about the attack.

The reporter, James Rosen, does not disclose how he learned of the incident. Trump said he was surprised anyone heard about it. “I’m not looking to play this thing up,” Trump told Rosen. “I’m surprised you found out about it.”

Rosen also reports that “Trump was at first reluctant to discuss his daredevil deed, but then he warmed to the task.”

Trump’s famous ability to manipulate the New York press should always be kept in mind.

New York in the pre-Giuliani days of 1991 was not the New York of today, the New York that looks like a Hollywood backlot dressed for a romcom. No, in 1991, New York looked like this and the statistics looked like this. Just a few weeks earlier, in fact, Trump’s own mother had been mugged before a bystander named Lawrence Herbert chased the thug away.

A full 27 years later, this story surfaced online after the media roundly mocked President Trump over his claim that, unlike the local deputies at the scene, he would not have stood outside as innocent children were being massacred at a school in Parkland, Florida.

CNN’s anti-Trump pundit, Jake Tapper, who is himself using traumatized children as human shields to hide from the widespread criticism of his mishandling of last week’s anti-gun town hall, angrily lashed out at Trump over the school shooting comments. Tapper has yet to comment on this 1991 report.

In its own snarky attack on Trump, the far-left Washington Post also failed to inform its readers about this report of Trump stopping a mugging.

Jennifer Lawrence: ‘Problem is Guns, not Entertainment Industry’

Actress and political activist Jennifer Lawrence opened up about gun violence this week, dismissing the idea that the entertainment industry’s constant use of firearms is partly to blame for America’s gun violence.

“I think that, you know, we’re the entertainment industry. At some point there has to be separation between politics and the entertainment industry or we’re going to suffer,” Lawrence said Wednesday during the New York premiere of her new spy thriller Red Sparrow. “This is, it’s an art. And it’s an art to entertain and, as an industry, we will suffer and people need to take that responsibility on themselves.”

“The same kind of violence is in different parts of the country that don’t have as many problems as we do,” Lawrence continued, “I think the problems is guns not entertainment industry.”

Lawrence, who has starred in several films featuring her character using firearms — including Winter’s Bone, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Joy — also praised the students campaigning for gun control in the wake of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that saw Nikalos Cruz kill 17 people with a legally purchased AR-15 rifle.

“I think what they’re doing is amazing,” Lawrence said. “I think that it’s really about time as citizens we don’t feel safe and if these kids don’t feel safe then they need to do something about it,” she said. “And I admire what they’re doing and I think they’re really brave.”

The A-lister was responding to President Donald Trump implying last week that violenceon TV and in video games have spurred mass shootings.

Trump Makes Game-Changing Move To Food Stamps… Welfare Queens Are Finished

Food stamps, once upon a time, were for those who needed a little help when their world was crashing down around them. Maybe from injury, illness or even divorce. Nobody ever had a problem with folks who truly needed a way to get by until they landed back on their feet.

Then, somewhere along the way (thanks to Democrats), instead of leaning on food stamps in times of need, the Democrat machine convinced half the country that they didn’t need to work anymore and to live off the “system.” Then Democrats were able to convince those same people that in order to keep their leisurely, work-free life, they needed to vote Democrat during elections.

See what I’m saying?

This got progressively worse and fast-forward to today — the food stamp abuse epidemic is a cancer. It has to end. Thank goodness we have President Trump at the helm — he’s about to tick off EVERY welfare mooch out there…

Eater reports:

Trump’s new budget proposal includes major cuts to the nation’s food stamp program, (now known as SNAP). POTUS wants to slash cash payments to program recipients, replacing them in part with “a package of U.S.-grown commodities” like meat, poultry, milk, peanut butter, and cereal,” the Washington Post reports. The cuts would add up to more than $200 billion over the next decade.

White House budget director Mick Mulvaney referred to the boxes of food staples as a “Blue Apron-type program,” according to Politico, referring to the meal kit company that has suffered from a woefully underperforming IPO and a decline in customers in recent months. In the budget proposal, the hypothetical food distribution is called “USDA America’s Harvest Box” — a somewhat eyebrow-raising name since it would include canned fruit and vegetables, not fresh.

The program changes would affect food stamp recipients who receive $90 or more in benefits a month. Per the Post, more than 42 million Americans are covered under SNAP, receiving an average of $125 in benefits a month. Under the proposed changes, about half of a recipient’s benefits would come in the form of food, rather than cash.

Under the current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program, qualifying low-income recipients receive a monthly stipend on a debit card, which can be used to purchase food at grocery stores and other participating retailers. This gives program recipients more or less total autonomy over what to purchase with their benefits; the only items that are excluded are things like tobacco, alcohol, and vitamins, and prepared foods.

In a statement, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue called the proposed program shift “a bold, innovative approach to providing nutritious food to people who need assistance feeding themselves and their families.” Meanwhile, Stacy Dean, president for food assistance policy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, tells the Post, “This budget proposes taking away food assistance from millions of low-income Americans — and on the heels of a tax cut that favored the wealthy and corporations.”
