“The View” Says You Can’t Support Trump and Be a Christian The View Says You Can’t Support Trump And Be A Christian

Failing to recognize the issues rotting within their own party, the liberal hosts on ABC’s “The View” claimed it’s not possible to be both a Christian and a supporter of President Donald Trump.

On Thursday, the panel discussed a recent report claiming that Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid adult film star Stormy Daniels $130,000 prior to last year’s presidential election to keep quiet about an affair that allegedly happened between her and Trump in 2006.

As noted by the Independent Journal Review, Cohen not only denied the report, but also released a statement that was signed by Daniels admitting that she never had an affair with Trump and did not take a payoff to remain quiet about it.

After pointing all of that out to the left-wing panel, co-host Meghan McCain said the Daniels’ story was a nothing more than recycled tabloid garbage that no publication had picked up for years because the story had major credibility issues.

But guest host Yvette Nicole Brown disagreed, and peddled the utterly ridiculous theory that one cannot support Trump and be a Christian at the same time.

WATCH: California AG Threatens To Prosecute Private Citizens Who Help ICE Enforce Laws

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said on Thursday that the sanctuary state will prosecute any private business that helps federal immigration authorities as they seek to enforce immigration laws that have existed for years.

Becerra’s threat comes as fears continue to mount among Democratic leaders in California that federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are planning massive raids throughout the state, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Speaking at a press conference, Becerra said, “It’s important, given these rumors that are out there, to let people know – more specifically today, employers – that if they voluntarily start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office.”

At the beginning of the year, California became an official “sanctuary state” which prohibits cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

“We will prosecute those who violate the law,” threatened Becerra.

As the Sacramento Bee details, the new law:

  • Requires employers to ask immigration agents for a warrant before granting access to a worksite.
  • Prevents employers from voluntarily sharing confidential employee information without a subpoena.
  • Requires employers to notify their workers before a federal audit of employee records.
  • Gives the attorney general and labor commissioner exclusive authority to enforce new provisions of state labor laws.
  • Prohibits employers from re-verifying information on employment verification forms, unless compelled to by federal law.

Another Media Fail: Only 24% Want Oprah Winfrey to Run for President

Only 24 percent of American voters want Oprah Winfrey to run for president, according to a Morning Consult poll of some 2,000 registered voters. When broken down by party affiliation, only 38 percent of Democrats want her to run.

In the wake of her speech at the Golden Globes last Sunday, Hollywood and the elitist media — two left-wing  institutions currently facing mushrooming sexual misconduct scandals —  spent a full week attempting to convince the public that Winfrey would be a perfect choice to challenge Trump for re-election in 2020.

Naturally, the far-left CNN was the most exuberant. But it was all fake news, all propaganda spewed from the provincial bubble of Hollywood and media…

On top of not even garnering the support of a quarter of American voters, in worse news for an elitist media rapidly losing its moral authority and ability to move public opinion, a solid majority of 59 percent do not want Winfrey to run.

The news gets even worse when Winfrey is matched directly with Trump, who she only tops by a measly two points, 40 to 38 percent.

After years of adoring press coverage and a full week of the media celebrating and promoting her presidential prospects, Oprah has only managed to pull ahead of Trump within the margin of error — and Trump is the guy the media have been smearing and trolling for nearly two years now. This is a terrible showing for Oprah.

On top of that, Oprah is at her most pristine politically. Because the media have even gone so far as to cover up her indefensible Swiss race hoax, Winfrey is currently unblemished in the political arena, a status she loses, though, the moment she decides to step into the arena.

The Morning Consult poll also showed that the media’s obvious desire to see Trump challenged by a woman of color is facing headwinds with Democrat voters who prefer (by wide margins) two very old white guys over the billionaire mogul: former Vice President Joe Biden (54 to 31 percent) and Senator Bernie Sanders (46 to 37 percent).

While the week is not yet over, this is the third embarrassing setback for the national media in just a few days.

On Wednesday, a poll clearly showed that the public is waking up to months of media lies about the GOP tax bill signed into office by Trump last month. Even before American workers have had a chance to see their own personal tax cut in next month’s pay checks, already a plurality support the bill — a massive turnaround thanks to the tax cut already inspiring some 194 companies to offer substantial bonuses and pay raises to some two million employees.

Also, on Monday, after weeks of flat-out lies and wild-eyed conspiracy theories about Trump’s mental health, the White House doctor confirmed that the president scored a perfect 30-for-30 on a difficult and widely respected mental acuity test. As a result, the media was again was exposed as serial betrayers of the public trust.

Snowfall Covers All 50 States for First Time Since 2010

For the first time in nearly eight years, snowfall is covering at least part of the ground in all 50 states.

As of Wednesday morning, snowfall covered at least part of all 50 states and blanketed 52.3 percent of the country, WMTV reported.

The last time all 50 states reported snow on the ground around the same time was February 12, 2010. The latest blast of winter weather brought snow and record-cold temperatures as far south as the Gulf Coast states of Florida and Louisiana.

Even Hawaii, known for its tropical paradise, reported snow on Mauna Kea, the volcanic mountain that sits on the Big Island.

Even though this is the first time snow is present in all 50 states in eight years, other storms over the years have brought snowfall to the majority of states.

Winter Storm Helena in 2017 caused snowfall to cover the ground in many parts of the country — 49 out of 50 states reported snow on the ground on January 8, 2017, after the storm.

Report: California Mayor Vows to ‘Go to Jail’ to Protect ‘Sanctuary City’ Policies Amid Immigration Crackdown

The mayor of Oakland, California, is vowing to face jail time to protect illegal aliens from facing America’s immigration laws as the Trump administration plans to ramp up its enforcement of those laws, a report says.

During his campaign for president and several times since, President Donald Trump has threatened to starve so-called “sanctuary cities” of federal funding. Some reports recently claimed that the administration is set to focus on California for a new wave of raids setting the stage for more deportations of illegals.

With the pressure on sanctuary cities, especially in California, Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf is grandstanding that she would risk going to jail to oppose immigration officials from deporting illegals in her town.

In an interview with San Francisco’s CBS affiliate, Schaaf slammed Trump as the “bully in chief.”

“It is no surprise that the bully in chief is continuing to try to intimidate our most vulnerable residents,” Schaaf said. “We’re very clear that our values are to protect all of our residents regardless of where we come from. We want to protect families, not tear them apart.”

“We are exercising our legal right to be a Sanctuary City and to protect our residents,” the mayor added. “The fact that the federal government is suggesting that it is actively retaliating against jurisdictions that are exercising their right to have sanctuary policies — that is what is illegal.”

Schaaf said she is willing to go to jail to protect illegal aliens.

The Oakland City Council firmly backed the mayor, too.

Firstly, Oakland has set aside one million in tax dollars to help defend illegals who are gathered up by immigration officials. Secondly, the council voted unanimously to discontinue cooperation with ICE officials.

Polish President Thanks Trump for Fighting Fake News

Polish President Andrzej Duda

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland’s president has thanked President Donald Trump for fighting “fake news,” saying his own country experiences the power of fake news “first hand.”

President Andrzej Duda voiced his thanks to Trump in English on Twitter Thursday, a day after the U.S. leader revealed his promised “fake news awards.”

In his tweet, Duda wrote that Trump “just stressed again the power of fake news. Thank you. We must continue to fight that phenomenon. Poland experiences fake news power first hand. Many European and even U.S. officials form their opinions of PL (Poland) based on relentless flow of fake news.”

One of the “awards” went to Newsweek for reporting that Duda’s wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, did not shake hands with Trump during a visit to Warsaw last summer. In fact, she briefly avoided Trump’s outstretched hand as she reached out to shake the hand of U.S. first lady Melania Trump, but she did shake Trump’s hand afterward.

Critics say Trump’s attacks on what he calls “fake news” are attacks on media freedom that embolden authoritarian leaders around the world.

Duda’s tweet comes as Poland faces sharp criticism from the European Union over new laws that increase the ruling party’s control over the judiciary.

While the Polish government says the laws are needed to clean up a corrupt judicial system, the EU has threatened sanctions against Poland because it says the laws violate fundamental democratic values.

AP: Border Wall Models Thwart U.S. Commandos in Tests

President Donald Trump hinted during a cabinet meeting that he might be visiting the wall prototypes on the southern border.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Recent assaults by tactical teams on prototypes of President Donald Trump’s proposed wall with Mexico indicate their imposing heights should stop border crossers, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the rigorous assessment told The Associated Press.

Military special forces based in Florida and U.S. Customs and Border Protection special units spent three weeks trying to breach and scale the eight models in San Diego, using jackhammers, saws, torches and other tools and climbing devices, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the information was not authorized for public release.

A Customs and Border Protection report on the tests identifies strengths and flaws of each design but does not pick an overall winner or rank them, though it does point to see-through steel barriers topped by concrete as the best overall design, the official said.

The report recommends combining elements of each, depending on the terrain. The official likened it to a Lego design, pulling pieces from different prototypes.

Carlos Diaz, a spokesman for Customs and Border Protection, said the agency is still in “the testing phase” and that results are being evaluated. He said combining elements of different prototypes instead of picking a winner is consistent with previous statements by officials. He noted that the agency said in its bidding guidelines that a minimum height of 18 feet (5.4 meters) would be a key characteristic. He said he did not have additional details on test results.

Contractors were awarded between $300,000 and $500,000 for each prototype. Prototypes were built last fall to guide future construction of one of Trump’s signature campaign pledges. Four were concrete and four were made of other materials.

Ronald Vitiello, the agency’s acting deputy commissioner, said after visiting the prototypes in October that he was struck most by the 30-foot (9.1-meter) heights, which are significantly higher than existing barriers. Taller barriers are undoubtedly more effective, but whether the cost is justified will be up for debate.

The highly trained testers scaled 16 to 20 feet (4.9 to 6.1 meters) unassisted but needed help after that, said the official who described the assaults on the wall prototypes to the AP. Testers also expressed safety concerns about getting down from 30 feet.

Only once did a tester manage to land a hook on top of the wall without help, the official said. Tubes atop some models repelled climbing devices but wouldn’t work in more mountainous areas because the terrain is too jagged.

The report favors steel at ground level because agents can see what is happening on the other side and holes can more easily be patched, the official said. With concrete, large slabs have to be replaced for even small breaches, which is time-consuming and expensive. Topping the steel with smooth concrete surfaces helps prevent climbing.

Customs and Border Protection leaders were scheduled to be briefed on the findings this week amid intensifying discussions between the White House and Congress on immigration legislation to avert a government shutdown and renew protection for about 800,000 young immigrants who were temporarily shielded from deportation under an Obama-era program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which is scheduled to end in March.

The administration has insisted wall funding be part of any immigration deal but Trump has been unclear about how long the wall would be and how it should be designed. The administration has asked for $1.6 billion this year to build or replace 74 miles (118.4 kilometers) of barriers in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley and San Diego and plans to request another $1.6 billion next year.

A proposal by Customs and Border Protection calls for spending $18 billion over 10 years to extend barriers to cover nearly half the border, though it is unclear if Trump supports that plan. The agency proposes 316 miles (505 kilometers) of additional barrier by September 2027, bringing total coverage to 970 miles (1,552 kilometers). It also seeks 407 miles (651 kilometers) of replacement or secondary fencing.

Mexico has steadfastly rejected Trump’s demand that it pay for the wall.

Contracts to do work on that scale would be hugely lucrative, and the prototypes, spaced tightly together in a remote part of San Diego, have captured widespread attention, including from architecture critics. W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co. of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Caddell Construction Co. of Montgomery, Alabama, built one concrete model and one of other materials.

Texas Sterling Construction Co., a unit of Sterling Construction Co., and Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. of Tempe, Arizona, did concrete designs. ELTA North America Inc., part of state-run Israel Aerospace Industries, and KWR Construction Inc. of Sierra Vista, Arizona, built models from other materials.

Vitiello said in October that the testing could last up to two months and lead to officials to conclude that elements of several designs should be merged to create effective walls, raising the possibility of no winner or winners.

Massachusetts Orders Residents to Surrender Bump Stocks

bump stock

The state of Massachusetts is ordering residents to surrender any bump stocks in their possession, making clear that even keeping such an accessory at home is prohibited.

Massachusetts’ bump stock ban is a response to the October 1, 2017, Las Vegas shooting, wherein the devices were criminally to inflict harm. No bump stock crimes in the state of Massachusetts have been cited.

Moreover, the Massachusetts’ bump stock ban also bans trigger cranks, although trigger cranks were not even used in the Las Vegas attack.

The ban is based on language in a new spending bill containing sections directly referencing bump stocks and trigger cranks.

The bill defines a bump stock as “any device for a weapon that increases the rate of fire achievable with such weapon by using energy from the recoil of the weapon to generate a reciprocating action that facilitates repeated activation of the trigger.” It defines a trigger crank as “any device to be attached to a weapon that repeatedly activates the trigger of the weapon through the use of a lever or other part that is turned in a circular motion; provided, however, that ‘trigger crank’ shall not include any weapon initially designed and manufactured to fire through the use of a crank or lever.”

Guns.com obtained a letter being sent by the Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, which says, in part:

Effective 90 days from the enactment of the bill—February 1, 2018—the new law will also prohibit possession of bump stocks or trigger cranks, including possession in a private home. There are no exceptions to this prohibition for licensed firearm owners: an FID card, a License to Carry, or even a license to possess a machine gun will not authorize possession of a bump stock or a trigger crank.

Because the law does not allow for transfer or sale of these prohibited items, if you currently possess a bump stock or trigger crank within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you should contact your local police department or the Massachusetts State Police to get details about how to transfer custody of the prohibited item to the police for destruction. Retention of such a prohibited item beyond the 90 day grace period will expose the owner to criminal prosecution.

Breitbart News reported that Democrats were emboldened to pursue state-level gun control after the NRA retreated from the bump stock fight. And Republicans who once feared the political ramifications of bucking the NRA now see a bump stock legislation as a way they can pursue gun control without political fallout.

Mansour: Trump ‘Has Governed Completely as a Pro-Lifer,’ Unlike Other GOP Presidents

President Donald Trump “has governed completely as a pro-lifer” and has “given the pro-life movement everything he could,” said Breitbart News’s Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight.

Mansour made these remarks while discussing Friday’s annual pro-life March for Life in Washington, D.C.

“Ever since Roe v. Wade became the law of the land by fiat, by Supreme Court justices legislating from the bench,” said Mansour, “pro-lifers from around the country come to Washington, D.C., to peacefully petition the government on behalf of the unborn and the millions that we will never know.”

“It’s very hopeful to me to see this happen again and again, to show that we do not forget this issue,” she said, expressing admiration for the dedication of the pro-life movement in coming to the nation’s capital every January on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision despite the “awful weather” and the news media’s blackout of their protests.

“It’s remarkable to see these young people come here,” said Mansour, noting the predominance of college and high school students among the participants. “This is the future of our country and the future of the pro-life movement.”

Describing her personal connection to the March, Mansour said, “The first time in my life that I ever went to Washington, D.C., was when I was nineteen years old and participated in a March for Life.”

Mansour noted that President Trump is making history by addressing this year’s March for Life. Despite her earlier reservations about the sincerity of his opposition to abortion, Mansour said that the president’s actions towards the issue are a better metric for evaluating his pro-life bona fides.

“For the first time in history, a sitting President of the United States will address the March for Life,” said Mansour. “And that president is, of course, President Donald Trump. Donald Trump, I’ve got to tell you, I’m not entirely certain that he is pro-life personally. To be perfectly honest, I never quite bought that he was pro-life when he said that he was during the election, during the primaries. I always kind of figured he’s just saying that. But, I will tell you this, he has governed completely as a pro-lifer. He has given the pro-life movement everything he could. He has given social conservatives everything he could. This is a guy who has stood up for conservatives and has governed like a conservative more than we’ve seen since Ronald Reagan.”

Members of the ostensibly conservative “Never Trump” movement, added Mansour, look foolish in the light of Trump’s conservative governance: “The Never Trumpers who belittled this man — who laughed at him, thought he was just completely lying to us, snowballing us — you know what? You guys have egg on your face because this man has fulfilled his promises when it comes to pro-lifers, when it comes to the social conservatives. He has stood with us completely and defended the religious communities in this country.”

Mansour illustrated the primacy of behavior over attitude with a biblical anecdote, drawing on Christ’s Parable of the Two Sons.

“I’ve often been reminded of the Parable of the Two Sons,” said Mansour. “This is from the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus said, ‘What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, “Son, go and work today in the vineyard.” “I will not,” the son answered. But later he changed his mind, and he went. Then the father went to the other son, and he said the same thing. That son answered, “I will, sir,” but he did not go. Which of the two did what his father wanted?’ Of course, the crowd answered, ‘The first. The one that said no, but then went and did it.’ And Jesus used that parable to explain how the sinners often are the ones fulfilling what God has asked, who will enter the Kingdom of God, as he said, ahead of the others who say, ‘Yes,’ but actually don’t do it.”

Trump has “completely stood with the religious community” where previous Republican presidents had not, noted Mansour: “There’s all sorts of stuff in the news about Donald Trump — all sorts of stories about porn stars, this, that, and the other thing, these sensational things to try to smear and besmirch the man’s record and character. I have no doubt that he’s very venal and that he’s done things in his past that we would look askance at, but what I look at is what the man’s actions are in office, and I see a man that has stood completely with the religious community in this country and has basically defended them in places where other Republican presidents, who claim to be Christian and who actually seem to be very upright, didn’t.”

“So I’ve got to say, thank you very much President Trump for what you’re doing,” concluded Mansour.

Trump is scheduled to address Friday’s March for Life rally via TV feed around 12:15 PM ET.

Breitbart News Tonight airs Monday through Friday on SiriusXM’s Patriot channel 125 from 9:00 p.m. to midnight Eastern (6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Pacific).

Dow’s 31 Percent Gain Under Trump Highest Since FDR

AP Photo

The 31 percent rise of the Dow Jones Industrial Average is the best gain in the first year of a presidency since Franklin Roosevelt.

Since January 20th, 2017, the stock market has made overwhelming gains with the Dow rising by 31 percent, the best performance since Roosevelt where it skyrocketed by 96.5 percent in his first year of office.

The figure is higher than that of Harry Truman, Barack Obama, and Lyndon B. Johnson, all of whom saw substantial gains of over 25 percent.

Most analysts believe the gains are driven by the Trump administrations slashing of regulations as well as a substantial corporate tax cut from 35 to 21 percent passed by Congress last December.

“This is all about policy,” Bruce Bittles, chief investment strategist at Baird told CNBC. “You’ve got lower taxes, less regulation and confidence in the economy is high. Things are firing on all cylinders.”

Companies such as Boeing and Caterpillar have seen a growth of 115 percent and 82 percent, while thousands of major businesses have experienced major gains.

Other positive economic indicators include records lows of unemployment. According to Labor Department figures released earlier this week reveal jobless claims have fallen to a record low of 220,000, while overall GDP has surpassed expectations.
