Elder Patriot – The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence voted to release the memoonly moments ago.
It will now go to President Trump who can choose to read it into the record during his State of the Union address tomorrow night, release it later this week, or choose not to make it public at all.
Should the president choose not to release it himself it will pass back to the full House where members of that body can vote to make it public if a majority of members vote to do so.
Those members of the HPSCI who have reviewed the four-page memo have described it as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming.” More than one congressman compared the evidence compiled against the upper levels of the FBI as comparable to tactics employed by the Russian KGB.
FBI Director Christopher Wray reviewed the memo yesterday and summoned Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to his office earlier today to demand his immediate resignation.
By handling it in this manner Wray has offered McCabe the opportunity to depart with his dignity in tact. McCabe doesn’t deserve that consideration.
McCabe had used his considerable power in an attempt to change the results of the 2016 presidential election.
Earlier in 2016, McCabe’s wife received $700,000 from Clinton campaign funds after it had been funneled through Bill’s former bagman and now Governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, at the same time that McCabe was authorizing the destruction of the considerable evidence against Hillary.
Once the bureau’s disgraced former Director James Comey exonerated Hillary, McCabe turned his sights towards discrediting Donald Trump by helping orchestrate the smear campaign against him with allegations of colluding with Russia.
Even after Trump became president McCabe kept driving the narrative that Trump had untoward ties to Russia and Vladimir Putin.
Now investigative reporter Sara Carter is reporting that McCabe was furious when Wray told him he wanted his resignation or the he would be fired post haste.
Christopher Wray has just gotten started. We are hearing from our sources inside the FBI that they are expecting a significant number of additional resignations to follow.
Carter has reported that:
“There are people lining up in the bureau to go after McCabe,” said a former FBI official, with knowledge. “There will be a clean up at the Bureau of his cronies.”
“McCabe apparently lashed out to his colleagues when he was told he would be asked to resign, according to sources. FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed the four-page memo on Sunday, sources familiar with the discussions said.
McCabe, who is facing three federal inquiries for conflicts-of-interest “during his time at the FBI, is one of the numerous names mentioned in the classified memo detailing FISA abuse, according to sources who reviewed the memo.”
